Judging from the postmatch comments about being extremely short in the back line, I doubt it's even a possibility we'd sell Taylor unless someone makes a flat-out stupid offer for him...but after yesterday I don't see how you could keep Cacapa out of the lineup for the forseeable future. I'd expect a back four of Enrique, Rozehnal, Cacapa, and a new signing at RB with Taylor on the bench from this point forward.

I wish he'd gotten a chance to do something this season but it seemed pretty clear he wasn't going to so I guess it's best just to cut ties...on a side note, this would lead you to believe that we aren't too concerned about losing Martins, right?

You're right, the middle stripe does look a lot better.

I agree with that assessment...as did Sam apparently. It looked like he got fouled quite a bit and I'm not sure if either Villa center-half was whistled for anything in the entire game. Then when frustration set in he basically gave up. Also, do we have anyone else who can take a corner? Geremi has been weak to say the least in that area so far.

All in all I thought he handled himself extremely well. For me the best part was that he recognized the mistakes he made in the first half and took charge on Villa's corners in the second.

Same vote for the same reason. A lot of times the referee will act like the second yellow card should only be given for a foul that's as bad as a straight red...but really it's the player's own fault for continuing his reckless play even when he's already been given a card.

Does seem strange alright, far more likely to get a goal than O'Shea surely? Having said that, O'Gay will probably score now. Fastest sending off ever? Saw a match in Colombia 2 or 3 weeks ago where a guy came on as a sub in his debut for the club, ran directly to the center of the pitch, tackled someone with spikes high, head-on, and got sent off. The commentators were in shock, he could not have been on for more than 10 seconds. I think the reaction was "This may be the entirety of his career with this club."

Getting some chills looking at the table and seeing Newcastle on the top line...sure it wasn't perfect but look at the buildup, most everyone was saying "I'll take a draw" and we go up 3-0 30 minutes into the match and cruise to a win. I doubt many of us were picturing this result yesterday, so let's be happy they came through for us in a big way.

Yeah I think it's worth it...$12/mo not too bad really, and even though my Internet is notoriously sketchy cause I'm on wireless, it ran by far the smoothest of any streaming video I've seen. (Better than YouTube, about 1000x better than NCAA March Madness coverage ) The posted screenshots were spot-on what it looked like on my laptop as well. The only thing I wish Setanta would do is move the matches to the archive as soon as they are over instead of only replaying them one at a time, at a specific time. I had to wait until 6pm to watch the replay when I wished I could have seen it right after I got back from work this afternoon. edited to add: The match is archived now on Setanta, I guess they wait until the end of the day to do it. But yeah, I was in the same boat as you James, having to avoid anything which might give away the score. I couldn't even watch other Premier League games today because I was worried they might drop the score at some point.

I did end up just buying the Setanta broadband...trying it out with some archived matches and it looks pretty solid. It'll be worth it to watch all the matches and not be dependent on the whims of FSC programming folks.

I hope Luque stays. 3 goals in 2 starts in the friendlies seems to warrant a chance to show what he can do, and at least gives some hope that he's finally found his form at NUFC. Big Sam says that he wants to give the players who have struggled a new lease on life here, and this is a wonderful opportunity to back those words up once Luque recovers from the groin injury. There's a great highlight package of his out on Youtube...if he can be 2/3 of that player he's worth holding onto.

Pretty much in the same situation except I live in Rhode Island...for now anyway. Still wish FSC would be a little more generous with the Mags games. We need our fix, after all. Can't get Setanta? Not on TV, no...I'll wait to see what the people on here have to say about the broadband stuff because that's looking like a decent possibility.
