  1. Brian Little. Sacked from Gainsborough Trinity last year and commentating on the UEFA cup
  2. I just don't think we need to go big on a 3rd striker, it almost seems a bit egocentric, showing we can get one over on Liverpool again. It's not like we are loaded, I just find it a bit queer. Strange that most people didn't have that opinion about De Jong. Not far off the same money. Seems fairly sensible to me. What are the other options?
  3. But buying an expensive forward we don't need isn't exactly prudent. Don't get this. We've got Cisse (poss ACN), Ba (poss ACN), Shola (injury prone) and Sammy (injured) to my knowledge. This lot would be lucky to last a full PL season, nevermind UEFA and the others on top. If Carroll regains his form - and there's no reason to doubt that under Pardew- then he gives us another dimension. Who gives a fuck if it means we lump it to the forwards now and again. Pardew has clearly shown he'll play the team that enables us to defeat the opposition in the most effective way. Some teams this will mean route one, others our 4-3-3.
  4. Is the copper on the right facepalming Ranger? Looking at it again it looks as if the other copper is smirking. Not sure if it's because Ranger is standing like a huffy hormonal 14 year old who is about to start stamping his feet and telling everyone how unfair life is.

  6. He's been s***-stirring about this ever since it came out. TBF it sounds as if hes just found something out. Would'nt say that Ba has been saying that all summer. Edwards has a point, this statement is pretty strong compared to anything ese
  7. Don't think he'd fit into the team tbh, bit of an arrogant ego on legs.
  8. Clearly they are! Witness the regular cry of "overpaid" - ignoring the fact that the players don't get paid to play for England (and is probably WHY they don't perform for their country) I think they do get paid for playing for England, but not a significant amount. It was reported they'd donated it to charity the last World Cup. The real money they earn for England is all the advertisements and endorsements they get. On the Carroll subject, they probably think he's the new Christian Vieri. They do get paid for playing for England. It happened a while ago and I may be wrong, but I remember there was talk of them striking if they didn't get paid. When they started to get paid was when the pride of playing for your country largely disappeared and was replaced with the apathy that is there now.

Why do they have that white bit around the badge. I loved our Adidas stuff, better than Puma but that badge surround just makes it look shite (aside from the red and white etc etc)
  10. tbh he's not behaving any differently from any other Celtic fan I know. I pulled him up a while ago about the behaviour of Celtic fans and just got the best behaved , won awards....blah blah. Fckn hate both the old firm.
  11. Thought he lived in north wales?? Yeah he does, not far from Chester though. Keep forgetting how close a nice place like Chester is to Liverpool, Stoke will be a short drive. Makes sense when he really wants to bum his horses, would piss me off no end to be a stoke fan and realise this. Isn't this just like when he came to us, but without the helicopter.

  13. Rodgers plays a bit like the 70s and 80s Liverpool played - possession football. I remember countless times watching the games on ITV on a Sunday and moaning about them passing the ball bak to the keeper. They were good going forward, but in general were boring to watch. When you contrast that with Manure and SAF (as much as I despise them), in general, the play good attacking football. If anyone thought that the Swansealona stuff in the press was bad last year, just watch what happens this year it'll be unbearable if the first fe results go his way.

It's an abbreviation, not an attempt to make it singular. In that case you are correct, you can turn it into whatever you want. However, it's widely accepted in England as "Maths". If in America, which is where i believe the phrase "math" came from, they want to abbreviate it like that then they can suck my balls. I've never met a human who calls it "Math" by the way It's American s**** which is slowly creeping in to our language. Others that really irritate me are counter being used instead of un- as in counter-productive or unproductive, two times instead of twice and marquee signing. I mean wtf is a marquee signing? It has no equivalent in British English. Wankers
  15. Not sure what the Rodgers love in is for. He's just playing it clever, 'sources' saying he's proved himself to them already shouldn't need an interview, won't interview as he knows it'll turn the Swansea fans against him. Reading between the lines he's just hedged his bets and tried to bluff them into going for him. I wouldn't look at what he's said as telling them to get stuffed.

Ah 1964, king of the one line put downs I remember you from tott, you need to post more mate, cracking stuff.
  17. "They need some stars there, because the fans love that - they want to see players that add a bit of glitter to their weekend," he continued. and "I think the expectations from the fans have to be tempered and they have to look at the situation more realistically." Two bullshit sentences that were constantly thrown at us under Shepherds reign. Sends a shiver down my spine reading those. One quote to get most Villa fans frothing at the mouth: Sunderland's former Villa boss Martin O'Neill also expressed his sympathy for his successor. "It was a difficult season," he said. "I know he went into it with eyes wide open, and it was always going to be a hard job, but nevertheless it's disappointing. "I will give him a call when times smooth over a little bit."
  18. They're probably pissed off at Pardew for daring to converse a positive, sensible message to us fans. He's stolen Dekkas thunder for when we sell someone and the usual hysterics start that I'm sure Dekka gets some perverse pleasure in causing.
  19. Too much conficence on here. We need to get into the mindset of getting beat, it's been a good season and that's exactly how Pardew played it down before Chelsea. 1-3 for me, sorry but I've been around too long to trust NUFC with something like this. Anything else is a bonus. It doesn't matter it's been a great season, it doesn't matter it's been a great season...............
  20. No, not all, but a significant percentage are. They are as bad as each other. My views are down to having spent a lot of time in Glasgow and knowing a lot of Celtic/Rangers fans. Interesting thought: If Sunderland were in the same position as Rangers, would you be as happy as the Celtic fans? I wouldn't, as much as I pity them they form part of our football culture. I miss the derbies when their inevitable relegation happens and would much prefer them around just so we have the matches to look forward too.
  21. Apologies, should have read: with slightly less bigotry. Cue Rangers and Celtic fans telling us they aren't bigoted and are just misunderstood.
  22. Won't be missed and hopefully Celtic won't be far behind. Scottish football can start again without the bigotry.
  23. It doesn't, when you want to build a squad to challenge for things, but you have to wonder how the same set of players seem to be pulling this off. There was an interview after the match with one of the Wigan players and he was asked about this, his answer - long silence then muttered something about how the work rate has improved. It just doesn't sit right with me.
