  1. Sure - well if you suddenly find that you can make it it's worth dropping me a PM, even if it is on the morning of the game. A load of the lads I go with are on a stag do so i've been lumbered with all the tickets. I currently just have the one available on its own, however, people dropping in and out like nobodies business so there is always a chance I might still have one going begging.

  2. Yeah, I was hoping to make a last-minute decision to come up for Everton, but looks like it might be tight to get a ticket the day before.

Got an adult one for sale for £20 in the Gallowgate if you are struggling mate!

  3. Not that worried or surprised about it. None of him, Marv or Santon have gone as they may well have big roles to play, albeit most likely from the bench, in a lunchtime kick off on Sat. I know Sammy has gone (although I think it is a bit different in his case - 19 year old, should be jumping at every opportunity etc)  but I trust AP's judgement and he has clearly decided it is more beneficial that they get a days rest, having travelled back from Stoke late/early, than to play in a reserve game.

  4. Go on the online box office - the chelsea game probably gives a better indication as there will have been less game by game sales than Everton.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the box office will actually be open today?

  5. Spent an hour on the phone earlier waiting to get through to get a ticket for a mate - no indication of where I was in the queue or anything. Had to give up in the end as I had a basketball match to play - was calling from a mobile so cost me £25. This was between about 5.45 and 6.45 - I hope the box office was actually open and I wasn't on hold with no chance of anyone answering my call!

You're a student at Durham University? I thought you were supposed to be the elite intelligentsia, the cream of British academic achievement...and you spunk £25 on a mobile phone call when you could have jumped on a train to Toon for a fiver and queued at the box office? Fuck me sideways with a fish fork.

I technically haven't spunked anything - my mate will be picking up the bill!

In which case, I take it all back! Stroke of genius passing it off onto your mate. Hopefully he doesn't have a clue.

I did explain to him that I might be on the phone a while and that he'd be picking up the bill - I think he was expecting more like 10 minutes thought!

I technically haven't spunked anything - my mate will be picking up the bill!  :D But yea time was tight today and we wanted to guarantee a certain seat - thing is once you are 10 mins in you think you might as well hang on for another ten etc etc

I read on .com that it was open until 6 and there was talk that they had outsourced the call centre. I would have hoped that it would say if it closed mid call.

  8. Most universities are member of the National Union of Students (NUS) and as such will have the NUS logo somewhere on the campus card. There is something called an NUS Extra card which I believe costs something like between £10-20 that is supposed to get you further discounts with certain merchandisers etc. Most places just ask for an NUS card as proof of being a student, however, I know that

Wolves for example will only sell student tickets to students with NUS Extra cards - I went to watch Wolves Man City last year with the old man and had a big (slightly intoxicated) row with the lady in the box office who wouldn't let me pick up the student ticket that I had booked and wanted me to pay an extra £15 for an adult ticket.

  9. Aye, was just a long range shot.

Thought Yohan was alright although his corners were extremely poor. Every other one seemed to hit the first man  :undecided:

I agree but I think the plan was to avoid sticking it in the middle - that would have been meat and drink for Samba every time. There is never any excuse for not beating the first man, however, I can see what he was trying to do e.g. Ba's goal at Wolves

  10. Thought Santon looked better on the right than on the left, but that is maybe because he was replacing Simpson.

Come January I'd like to see Santon play on the right and a proper left back signed. We are also crying out for some cover at centre back (I suppose that was what the Ridgewell big was meant to do).

Perch has a head like a 50 pence peace and having him and Simpson on the right hand side of our defence was like a footballing version of the chuckle brothers.

  11. Cheers for the replies to my last post durham and Venkman. Just one more question - my lass wants one as well and is a student, but she's living in Leeds. Could I just take one of my female student friends student card along and get a season ticket in her name, but my girlfriend uses it every week? Think ill pop along this afternoon to get them.

Not sure - you might have to get your female student friend to go into the box office with you if they are being particularly strict. Only thing would be that the season ticket would be in your friends name and not your girlfriends.

  12. Any idea how many ST holders we have and what the maximum number we can sell is? I'm sure there is/was a rule saying that there have to be a certain number of seats remaining for sale on a match by match basis or something like that?

  13. There is no argument with pulling in 48 k  v Wigan.  No offence to Wigan but they are hardley a crowd puller and we still managed 48 k.

Thats superb considering we are apparent "relegation candidates" and not the "top dogs" in the North East.

The Fiorentina thing would have played a part in the attendance, was it the first game it could have been used?

Nah pretty sure they could be used at Fulham and Blackburn

  14. Play our best team. Stoke is five days after, and Everton is five days after that. I'd only rest the players who looked tired over the weekend, so maybe Ba. And I'd rest Cabaye  because he's played in nearly every game this season. I would rest Coloccini too but we really don't have a replacement for him so he has to play.

After Everton is an international break so there isn't any reason for us to rest lots of people over the next two weeks.

So not our best team then?!  :D But yea I the players to be rested make sense although i'm pretty sure Colo will play. Would like to see Ba start as well so that him and Ben Arfa get a chance to play together.

Should be a cracking atmosphere tonight if we really have sold the whole of that bottom tier. In Morecambe at the moment, went to watch their 3-3 draw with Rotherham last night - will be in The Fernhurst from 6pm tonight - the perfect mini break!

  15. Could I ring up and just give them my mate's supporter number and get some? Or does he have to do it himself? Also, can you get student tickets over the phone?

You will need to go in to prove you are a student i'd imagine. I had problems at the start of the season trying to buy additional student tickets for mates - they said that because people were abusing the student tickets last year they have got tough on selling student tickets.
