  1. Right finally got around to replying on this thread. I'm one of the Leazes Corner movers and have stood at every home game for the last three seasons - this season I am in the back couple of rows of the front blocks of the strawberry corner (if that makes sense?!)

To my knowledge we are not blocking the view of anyone, however, everyone knows that, as it stands, premier league ground regulations dictate that persistent standing is not allowed. Therefore I cannot see how anyone can genuinely have any beef about being asked to sit down. Being able to stand in the Leazes Corner was a luxury, but now that we have moved we have to respect those fans around us. If you don't like it then don't buy a SEAT in the ground. I received a letter in the post warning me against persistent standing and at the next game I will be sat down - I enjoy match days too much, and indeed pay too much for the privilege of attending, to put that in jeopardy.

  2. Sammy can play wide or up top, he's direct and has a presence about him.  It's a no brainer, I'm confident even Pards will have him on the bench!

I hope you are right but Pards doesn't seem to be able to see how little Lovenkrands offers. I agree totally that Sammy offers more - the only thing is that if we are playing 1 up top then will Pardew want 3/4 strikers on the bench.

It could be Harper, Ferguson (as defensive cover), Guthrie, Smith, Obertan/Marv and then 2 of Sammy/Best/Ba/Shola/Loven depending on who actually starts. It could be therefore that there is no place for Sammy or Loven. This is all assuming that Gosling is the one to come in as the extra midfielder which surely he must be.

  3. I reckon it'll be Smith and, unfortunately, Sammy dropping out from that squad. Can't see Pardew opting for Sammy over Lovenkrands as an option on the bench which is a shame.

I agree with you on the Sammy/Lovenkrands thing - it is strange logic though as Pards turned to Sammy ahead of Lovenkrands on Monday night, yet it does appear more likely that if there is only a spot on the bench for one of them it's more likely to be Loven.

  4. ridiculous imo, we can't afford to be sentimental.

Exactly - it's £45 a ticket, not taking into account any of the other costs - we shouldn't have to turn up and see Santon, who has been signed to be first choice left back, on the bench just because Raylor has put a couple of freekicks on target.

  5. so this window we've sold/loaned out

    Keane 3m

    Crouch 10m

    Palacios 8m

    Hutton 4m

    O'hara 5m

    Jenas loan

    Bentley loan

    woodgate free

That's 30m and probably over 300k in wages and we bring in f***ing Adebayor on loan and Parker for 5m? that's it?

Arry won't be around for long as it's obvious Levy doesn't trust him with the cash.

he expects him to go to England. Boo hoo you only signed one forward.

I'd hate to have only adebayor, defoe or pav to choose from to play off van Der vaart.

Not the place to come expecting sympathy tonight pal!

  6. On today's showing he would perhaps be better as an impact sub, however it is still early days - I am hoping that he will get better as he is given time on the pitch, we must not forget that he hasn't played a lot of football in the last couple of years.
