  1. Ireland won't play because he isn't match fit and has been shit for nearly a year now, so I don't see any benefit in starting him. Throw him on if needed but no way should he start.

For me it depends on the alternative.

If (either through protecting Ferguson or Enrique not being fit and thus Ferguson being needed at LB) it is a question of either:

Barton-Guthrie-Nolan-Gutierrez or Barton-Ireland-Nolan-Gutierrez then personally I would feel much more confident in the latter.

However, if Pardew is considering throwing Ferguson in to start with Gutierrez either side of Nolan-Barton then I would have no problem in seeing Ireland left on the bench.

Of course that is just a personal opinion heavily influenced by the fact I think Guthrie has been pretty poor when he has appeared this season and the hope that Ireland can suddenly conjure up something like his best form straight away.

  2. The Routledge one is very interesting. I'm sure Wayne did a piece in one of the paper's a month or so ago saying that he didn't ask to leave and would be happy to come back and fight for his place. If that really is the case then Pardew must not have fancied him at all, yet I can't think of a game since he left that he would not have at least been useful as a sub towards the end. Given the way things have turned out he could well have started 1/2-2/3 of them. Think letting him go on loan was definitely the wrong call.

  3. Have you seen how many LB's they have in their squad?

Agreed. He's off to Liverpool instead.

You can be such a prick at times.

You impressively manage it on a constant basis. You don't like the owners, you think the club is going to spontaneously combust and all good will turn to evil. We get it. Now please, for the love of god, shhhhh. I've sat on the fringes of this forum for 5 years and only NE5 surpassed the tedious predictability of the rehashed shite you post on the football boards. You are a walking advert to ignore the entire United for Newcastle campaign which is a real shame.

And do you have any idea what I do off these boards? How much work I've put into the campaign?

Said it before, and I'll say it again. My views on this forum do not represent the views of United For Newcastle.

Just you? Do the other lads do nowt? Cos you seem to be constantly bleating on about how much you do, and that smacks of negating what the others do iyam.

Only in the context of this particularly quote and not coming down on any particular side, it seems reasonable to defend a personal attack ('you') with a personal response ('I')

  4. Luckily its an attribute that can be greatly improved with a bit of hard work, in the sense that something like reaction time can be trained but a lot of it is natural.

  5. Sorry if people think this is not worthy of a thread but I thought I would highlight it for anyone interested. I haven't bought a replica shirt for years but saw this offer and thought it was too good to be true.

JJB have a sale on this weekend where they are selling replica football shirts for just £15. The newcastle ones can be found following the link below:

    http://www.jjbsports.com/popular-sports-football-football-kits-premiership-newcastle/sport/fcp-category/list?resetFilters=true

They have both the black and white and blue shirts available in sizes XL, XXL and 3XL, although I think XL might only be available in longsleeve.

With this you also get free printing. Tiote 24 is not on there but it gives you the option to personalise your printing and so you can just enter it there. It shows as £10 but gets taken away when you checkout.

If you use the code FIT210FIRST you also get 10% off.

Delivery is £3.99 but if you select pick up in your local store it is free.

LS Blue away shirt in XL with Tiote 24 on the back for £13.50 =  :frantic:

I haven't tried on any puma shirts so just hope that it fits!

Hope this helps at least someone. Have received my email confirming the order from JJB.

EDIT: Have just seen that they have child's sizes available as well for £10 (or £9 with code)

Good spot. Durhamunigeordie, you ARE the Martin Lewis of N-O. He's the money saving expert on breakfast tele by the way.

I'm a student, I always consult Martin Lewis for advice  O0

  6. Someone was saying that we need a song for Leon Best, and someone else said how great the "Giggs will tear you apart again" song was, so why not use it for Leon.

"Best, Best will tear you apart again!"

    Facey Palma.

Haha I didn't mind the Nicky Butt song but isn't the best one the same tune as Alan Smith one?

It's better than the "Leon Leon Best, Leon Leon Best" that used to be "Nicky Nicky Butt, Nicky Nicky Butt" that gets sang.

  7. A good friend of mine from Uni follows Norwich very closely. They rate him highly down there, apparently some of the saves he pulled off last season were unbelievable, however, his kicking is not the best (something I witnessed first hand when he scuffed a goal kick straight to Jermaine Beckford away at Leeds last season, although my friend swears this was his only real error all season). If that is the case he fits the mould of  Newcastle GK perfectly.

  8. If Tiote picked up a second yellow would that mean he just misses one game (Wolves) and then would just have to get through the Villa game without picking up a booking which would then take him past the April 10th deadline?

Would surely be a 4 game ban then? 2 games for 10 yellows then 2 for his 2nd red card?

    The yellow wouldn't count.

But he'd still get a 2 game ban because it'd be his 2nd red card of the season.

    Done me there  :clap2:

  9. If Tiote picked up a second yellow would that mean he just misses one game (Wolves) and then would just have to get through the Villa game without picking up a booking which would then take him past the April 10th deadline?

 Desperation I know but I think technically it could be true?!

    Think about it mate.

Is it not just a one game ban for two yellows?! He'd miss Wolves and be available for Villa. If he didn't get booked against Villa he'd then be on 9 yellows with 6/7 games to go and would need to get up to 15 for the next suspension.

I know the whole point is complete madness but I'm going to at least argue that technically I'm right. Unless of course todays booking would still count if he got a second!
