SPANISH ace Xisco has spoken of his delight after completing a "dream" move to Newcastle United.

The 22-year-old penned a five-year deal at St.James' Park as he jetted in to Tyneside on Monday before linking up with the Spain under-21 squad ahead of this weekend's Euro qualifier in Kazakhstan.

But before dashing off to Newcastle Airport the striker spoke exclusively to nufc.co.uk as he revealed his excitement at the challenge which lies ahead.

"It is a great feeling to be here and to have signed for Newcastle United," said the former Deportivo dangerman who netted 12 times in 44 games for the La Liga outfit.

"I have waited for this opportunity for a long time in my life and I want to show the people of Newcastle what I can do - it is a dream for me.

"I love the Premier League and I think I will be suited to English football because it is fast and physical.

"I am a quick player and I'm also strong, it is ideal for me.

"Now I must go to play for Spain under-21s, but I am very much looking forward to returning and meeting all of my new team-mates."

    the lads only 22!

btw, anyone know if he and Enrique have been in the same team for the U-21 Spain side?

They have played together. I watched this match earlier in the year.

We've got three players on that pitch, three promising youngsters. As much as people may say we aren't moving forward, I think 3 players on a pitch of such quality is testament to our progress.

  2. Really? Where did you hear about that deal?

    my source ;)

I guess that means Elano wont be starting as much? hmmm, creative midfielder we could have done with ah well

Can see them playing a 4-5-1/4-4-2 with Kompany, Wright-Phillips, Elano, Petrov, Robinho and Jo.

  3. I'll go along with this as we need bodies but Im not overly keen on a loan signing which has pretty much no chance of turning permanent.

Why has it got pretty much no chance of turning permanent? He is 26 and they have sent him straight out on loan plus they have big money problems.

Havent they just signed him this summer and loaning him straight out?

No, I think they signed him in January.
