He's a great defender, I've seen him play over the last few years and he is undoubtedly a great talent.

However, we cannot rely on him in the air. He is strongest when the ball is on the ground and this is something that I feel still needs to be addressed, hopefully through the signing of a tall defensive midfielder (which is why I wish we kept Faye).

I feel ashamed to have seen such a dreadful player in a Newcastle shirt.

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else, however, HSV did complete the signing of Marcell Jansen (a left-back) on Thursday. They also signed a centre-back from Brazil, who I'm informed has played at left-back. Also, Atouba was not in HSV's latest squad.

I expect us to sign Atouba by Monday.
