  1. hadnt given it any thought- but Howey has just asked what that would be if we were paid for advertising? probs another 20-30m income to add to that Nah, £5-8m I would say. Am sure it was worked out some years ago, that matchday advertising inside St James would be worth in the region of £8million a season. That's at least £88million Ashley has screwed the club out of, during his tenure so far. fair do's- thought I had seen it was significantly more than that somewhere.

  3. 1978-1982 and 1990-1992 What did you do about it at the time? And to be fair, I was 10 in 1978 so couldn't have cared less how shit it was as I was a starry eyed kid and just wanted to go to the match. 1990-92 I went home and away every week missing only the odd away game and even though the football was mostly atrocious it was a laugh with mates and was pissed most of the time anyway. So how was any of that worse then? 4 years and 2 years of being starry eyed and pissed vs 11 years of empty, soulless, hopeless misery. Standard of football was worse and so was the state of the ground (despite the neglect that people keep pointing out now). Otherwise there isn't a great deal of difference, particularly with the mckeag years where we just looked to survive in the old first division. Quality of football and the state of the grounds are probably relative across the board tbh, even when you see highlights of Liverpool from that era the quality of football looks poor by today's standards and all the grounds look like shit tips. players wern't the same athletes they are, pitches were much heavier going.
  4. First went in early 70s, season ticket holder 80s and 90s , ad-hoc match goer until 2010- although the team and players are better now than in some of those years- The feeling about the clubs direction is the worse for me. Always thought even in the Mckeag years, the club always had the ambition to be the best it could, even if they fucked it up and it turned to shit never felt like it was done deliberately- there was always some hope. I can remember the days I was an ardent match goer and walked past a Boycott, Leeds 89 Quinns debut- cos I wanted to - well see the match on a Saturday afternoon, so I do have an understanding of what the continue to support fans mindset is.

Isnt radio newcastle on the am frequency- 1458?
  7. His 'tackle' has been mentioned on every BBc sport report (5) today. Boils my piss, if this were Felani on Rondon- would not have been mentioned at all in any media- prem has become a big arse licking parade of the top six and the sooner it eats itself the better.
  8. yep- said it years ago- one of the things that validates Ashley is he has a monopoly on providing a team for the fans- until some of them decide otherwise. Imagine where it- / NUfc could be with another 10 years of Ashley here.
  9. To me it looks like theres 50k fans in the City willing to accept Mike Ashleys version of NUfc- ( surviving with no ambition) and many of them see objecting to protests as part of supporting, which is really accepting this version.

One of them appears to think there will be some future financial benefit from handing sima his arse making things up.

Looking at the table, and how shit they are- Think they are 2 losses away from hating the don, Ross and having to tell fibs about the size of their actual attendance to maintain the dream of being the big fish. They are also looking a good bet to finish the lowest they or us for that matter have ever finished in the history of either club. Heady days

They went from 10,000 v Sheff Wed to 75,000 v Derby County, back down to 14,000 for their next home game all in the space of a month back in 1933. Always been a fickle lot. They used to be renowned for it. I love their 1992 Craic as well, like they were a big club before then. when 9 years earlier their chairman said this. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/lifestyle/nostalgia/dateline-16-march-1983-sunderland-chairman-i-wish-we-had-newcastle-s-fans-1-5502961
