  1. Mental. Although surely they'd demand the player hop like grasshoppers?

    Rafa Benítez

I'm still deluded enough to think he's staying, so haven't really taken today as a farewell. But what a manager he's been for us

Hmm bit annoying, tie could go either way but you'd have to put mackems as favourites with the 1-0 lead. And then they'll go up.

Why does Ashley need to compromise? He has told everyone in the fans forums that his ambition for the club is to stay in the league only!!! He doesn't want cup success or any type of a push for Europe, Newcastle United exists to stay in the league with the TV money as cheaply as possible with the added bonus of selling a purple a year to fund 4 or 5 more young signings. Ashley has never hid this fact but we still turn up in the hope that things might change the fucker even wants us removed from the skyline If he wants the cheaper route to survival (a world-class manager, rather than giving McClaren £60m), he'd compromise. Without Rafa we're going down.

Therefore both sides need to compromise. Maybe Rafa needs to accept China trips and generally younger signings, whilst Ashley needs to allow an occasional Rondon.

Sounds like good news for them, to be honest. Bastards.
  7. After watching him in midfield for us, I knew he'd be good at turning things around. And around. And around.

    Sounds alright tbh
  9. 2 transfers for this final week and need to replace Son and Firmino (brought in 2 weeks ago and hasn't played a single game ) Salah & Long? Pogba & Vardy?
  10. Some Championship sides are going to get a cracking loan over the next few seasons
  11. He could be the next Jacob Murphy
  12. Genuinely not going to watch the final because it holds no appeal to me whatsoever - not even bothered when it's Premier League. By the way, potential European champions Tottenham have lost league games this season to Watford, Burnley, Liverpool (x2), Man City (x2), Arsenal, Wolves, Man Utd, Chelsea, Southampton, West Ham and Bournemouth.
  13. They're screwed when Hazard leaves because Pulisic isn't on the same level. At least Loftus-Cheek will become a regular.
  14. Depends if it includes wages. We'll get £20m for Shelvey and apparently the asking price for Hayden is £15m. Add that to fees for Gayle and Murphy, we could be talking £100m which is a huge transfer pot for the 'Other 14'.
  15. Mind you, the money wasted on Dembele and Coutinho looks catastrophic. The clearout needs to get rid of them, Busquets, Malcolm etc.
  16. Over time, I'll cope by knowing that this Barca team would've been such weak European champions. Rarely convincing, prone to regular big-stage collapses like this. Nowhere near the best team in Europe.
  17. Barcelona pieces of shit, honestly, what absolute pricks. Eternal letdowns, year after year. Hate football, man.
  18. Oh for fucks sake. Barcelona are always such a letdown.
  19. Barcelona carved them open a few times, surprised they haven't scored yet. Can see Liverpool getting the second.
  20. That was brilliant, great goal. City > Diverpool
  21. 8 for me. Might be naive and it could end up hurting a lot, but I don't get hysterical about it all. He wants to stay, the board wants an overachieving manager.
