  1. 'I felt we gave a good account of ourselves it was never going to be easy against a side like Man City, especially before Halloween. Some of the lads are a little frightened and we tried to reduce the impact of that as much as possible. However it's fair to say a few of them are unerved and that had a part to play.'

    Man remember Halloween 2010. :(

One of my favourite times supporting this club. What I'd give to have an ounce of the passion of Hughton, Nolan, Carroll and Barton back.

Shola was 3 years younger as well  :smug:

  2. Wouldn't any potential move to Palace be immediately quashed by Ashley demanding £800m compensation or something?

As Wullie said, I reckon Ashley would be happy to get shot, and would surely give a considerable discount on the compensation CP would have to pay. Surely? please? someone? anyone? Bimpy?

  3. fucking hell Dave. dont piss on our collective chips man  :whatdidido:

i'll only believe this won't happen if he comes out and declares himself out of the running. As he did with England.

  4. Think we had a real chance at beating them in the 90 mins, but that says more about them than us, we coped well at the back because they looked absent of any movement and penetration. Seeing us create a few chances was a step forward however, but our inability to finish them was really frustrating. Silva changed the game.

TBH I thought Willo and Mbiwa played very well in the 90. Particularly the latter. Dealt with everything.

  5. We did OK. Looked interested at least.

If it was a league game though they would've swatted us aside comfortably, daft to pretend otherwise.

Harsh to criticise Pardew for not being able to beat Man City though, far better to judge him on the games he should be winning. Like the derby.

The criticism is for his starting line-up, and for his subs. Why on earth take Dummett off who was providing natural left-sided width? Bring Remy on and take Sissoko off. Tiote maybe if he wants to wrap him in cotton wool for Saturday. Unless Remy was carrying a slight knock, there's no reason why he shouldn't have come on in the second half.

  6. Shola man. :(

The man should never start another game for us, yet there he is.

Robs us of a useful sub as well by starting him, it's ridiculous.

If we MUST have an Ameobi on the pitch, it should be Sammy. He needs to develop and needs to play games. Should be wide left tonight. He's done well at Morecambe and against Leeds. Why the fuck is he nowhere to be seen fuck only knows.

  7. Big ask for Haidara to come back in from nowhere and perform against someone as good as Jesus Navas too.

Easy scapegoat though if it all goes tits up though.

    Dummett managed it

Odd not too play him again then.

    Yeah.

Could've been the confidence boost he might need after Sunday's debacle. Shows the crowd is still behind him, playing in his natural position against a familiar opponent etc.

    Oh well.

  8. It could mean a 4-3-3 with Sissoko, Anita and Tiote in midfield, which at least sounds better on paper.

How long until we change the formation? I'm going for 17 minutes.

    25.

Not really because then it would mean Cisse or Shola on the wing. It's a train-wreck of a formation no matter which way you look at it. Unless he's seen something specific in training, about this precise forward line - some kind of magical understanding between them - we will be tearing our hair out at the end of the game as per.

Aye, good point, Pardew would never play Cisse on the right

Obviously he's played him there and seen (and pretty much admitted) that it's not an option with Cisse.

  10. Ameobi/Cisse is absolutely f***ing minging  ah well.

Not so worried about that tbh. It's not them two, as shit as they have been. It's the supposed supply line. So Gouffran tracks back a fair bit, so fucking what? Doesn't mean he has to start every game now, shoe-horned into a seemingly attacking position only for him to be asked to "track back". Gouffran is a 442 striker. I would have played him up front with Cisse for this one. Sammy on the left, Ben Arfa on the right.
