  1. Fuck me havent celebrated a win like this in a long long time (bar the win over QPR). Feels absolutely amazing to get 6 points off two clubs who are just expected us to muller us these days.

Second half was difficult to watch and several times I considered turning it off and catching the score at full-time. Cannot single out players other than Krul. His was an outstanding world class performance, but the rest of the team fought hard and deserved the win for the determination they showed.

For all the great feeling this win will bring, we simply HAVE to get at least 4 points from the next two home fixtures for this to really count.

Traveling support fantastic as always. Have a fucking blast you beautiful Geordie bastards.

  2. Took out Hart, HBA and Lukaku yesterday for Jaaskelainen, Ravel Morrison and Aguero.

58 pts so far with Suarez ©, Lallana, Lambert and Coleman getting a decent haul. Morrison playing now with Vertonghen, Zabaleta, Ramsey and Aguero to play tomorrow.

Love being one of the cunts captaining the ultimate cunt  :aww:

  3. When did sparky get a flukey goal?

Think it was because we got a draw off them with 10 men? Never a goal like

I believe it came on the back of an agreement with the liverpool poster here that if they don't beat us (or if they dont get a certain number of points by a point in time) that Parky'd get a goal. Should be disallowed imo.

Rodgers seems to know what he's doing.

  4. Why does HBA have to prove himself over and over again whereas other crapheads waltz into the team at the drop of a hat? Why is he held to an insane standard whereas others around him are not? All questions which will not be answered of course. That Tevez and Mascherano duo was also not used to English football, like.

Cause Pardarse has no clue how to handle genius. It's almost like he has to score a wonder goal a game to stay in the side. This side?!...This piffling nonsense of a side with its whiny voice and routine pathetic cold starts like an 80's French car....Hit and miss, fearful and hesitant with odd flashes that are a must to feign gainful employment. All I can say is that we've been very lucky to get Remy and that Cabaye was woken from his Cinderella sleep by that phone call and his impending doom as an Arsenal 'reserve'.

Pardew it must be noted is most 'chirpy' when talking about 'energy' and battling and 'picking ourselves up'...All the language of a limited coach drowning in his own sell-by-date.

  5. Actually, eyewitness testimony is one of the poorest and least reliable forms of evidence we have, prone to all kinds of cognitive biases and errors of perception.

This doesn't mean stats aren't/can't be used in a misleading fashion, but "I done seen it with my own eyes" is almost always a poorer substitute tbh.

I reckon that's true over a short period of time, or a specific incident. Watching a team for an entire season though, year on year, allows for a more accurate perception and less cognitive bias as the evidence is spread out. Provided of course that you witness the events with close enough attention to whatever it is you're looking at.

  6. thought he was fine yesterday tbh, defended well, stopped a few crosses. His ball distribution was way under par for him, but the fact he wasn't noticed defensively was a bonus

This. We've been banging on about stopping crosses coming in and putting us under pressure. He stuck to his task and cut out a few with some unassuming blocks. Still learning. I love the way he moves with the ball but he hasn't got a clue what to do with it once he's on the edge of the box.

  7. Still hate this guy and want us shot of him at the earliest possible opportunity, but one thing I liked yesterday was post-match. Ashley comments aside he actually spoke some sense, and his English was a lot more professional than it usually is. Didn't sound like he will get carried away with the win, and that's the most important thing to take from the match. Liked his comment about the squad and city having a spring in their step come Monday morning.

We CAN play a full 90 minutes with the right tactics and some canny bit of quality to win matches under this guy, he just needs to start proving that wins like yesterday's are no fluke.

  8. The build up to the second goal was like a moment in time where everything and everyone momentarily froze, and this little gem took it upon himself to carve out the second goal we badly needed to kill the game off. For about 9 seconds there was no match, no Chelsea, no teammates, no Pardew, no fans, no dodgy owner, no Wonga. Just a ball, a wall (Obertan) and a tiny dancer named Vurn.

That's how I saw it anyway

  9. Gone from useless bull in a china shop to a composed leader in midfield. The area in or around the center circle  has belonged to him in the last few matches. Lots of room for improvement but the signs are good, as he seems to be regaining in confidence.

  10. Calling a spade a spade, he was exceptional last night save for a massive lapse which cost us a goal.

He had a hand in both..

he stepped forward too far for the 2nd and Dzeko ran into the space he deserted.

And Debuchy continued his run and played him on-side.

As I said with my previous post, both goals were quality coming on the back of excellent forward movement and final passes. I thought the back line was pretty solid throughout. We weren't under much pressure because we were organized and sussed out danger at an early stage.

  11. Calling a spade a spade, he was exceptional last night save for a massive lapse which cost us a goal.

Tbh I don't even think it was such an obvious "lapse". Forwards always have an advantage over defenders in general, as most of the time, defenders are having to react to their movement or ball control. I reckon he expected Dzeko to cross the ball high and lost his footing when the cross came low for Negredo to steal a march on him and tuck it away. It was very good forward play, and sometimes as a defender you can't legislate for that.

To say he cost us a goal/the game is harsh, as it could also be argued the cross shouldn't have been allowed to come in.

  12. Wouldn't any potential move to Palace be immediately quashed by Ashley demanding £800m compensation or something?

As Wullie said, I reckon Ashley would be happy to get shot, and would surely give a considerable discount on the compensation CP would have to pay. Surely? please? someone? anyone? Bimpy?

    Wait, what ?

 I dunno. Things just feel right as rain when you're around mate.
