  1. I have the utmost respect for SAF, he's wasn't likeable as an opposing manager at all. I can see why someone would say that about someone like Martinez but SAF? AVB? Nah. Especially at Chelsea AVb seemed a bit rude.

    I guess he's a bit "cool"

Have you seen his interview for the FA 150th anniversary thing?

  2. Going on RTG to find out if Mannone should be playing next week. If not I'm putting Boruc in. This should be a larf.

f***ing hell. I now really appreciate this forum for how easy it is to find your way around, and how simple and grammatically accurate the thread titles are.

This is best forum of any kind anywhere on the planet tbh.

  3. Tancredi Palmeri ‏@tancredipalmeri 1m

Chelsea have been contacted by Roma for Demba Ba

Par for the course. New club every year. Entourage gets paid, he gets to experience a new city. Such a hard knock life.

  4. Sadly we really could do with a 'battering ram', that said from what I have seen he isn't just a clogger either. I think we will have some good options in Gouffran, Cisse, Remy and Gomis.

Do I have to include the "yeah but with this manager" line?

As easy as it is to blame the manager, we could really do with some width, creativity and a good big man upfront.

Even if Pardew was sacked today i'm not convinced a new manager would drastically change things for the better, took me a long time to realise it but there are a lot of issues with this squad.

Motivation and confidence make a massive difference though and I dont believe Pardew provides that, in fact I'd bet he saps it away with his ultra cautious negativity.  IMO a decent manager could organise and motivate the players we have and we'd see the quality come through.  No reason not to keep adding more quality though so obviously I agree we should go out and sign Gomis and Thauvin, or at least someone like Sinclair.

It's no longer cautious/defensive/negative/pessimistic in my mind. In my mind the bloke is just clueless. It's not as if we're suffering from drab 0-0 draws all over the shop.

  5. Have to admire PSV's "out with the old, in with the new" approach this summer.. They looked sluggish and uninspired under Advocaat. Cocu has them playing fresh, attacking football with an average age of around 22 or so.

 football clubs who look to the future.

Seriously depresses me that I have to look to other teams to enjoy watching football these days after the shite we get served up. Imagine watching the football PSV have played tonight at SJP, by a Newcastle team whose average age is 22.  :huff:
