  1. Got to be Steven Taylor surely? From all the available options, he's been consistently solid. Only thing he's missing is an important goal. If he scores a goal that helps keep us up in this run in, he will "win" it imo.

  2. Defend him over racism, defend him over biting, Liverpool are absolutely ruining their reputation here. Wonder whether it's worth it just because he's talented?

They are so desperate to keep him, so desperate to say that they have the 3rd best player on the planet among their ranks, so desperate for him to lead them to the title etc...

Imagine if Jordan Henderson or Martin Skrtl had bitten someone. Don't think they'd be all up in arms about it (the ban that is) as they are now. They'd actually probably turn against the player and want him out for acting in a "non-Liverpool" way.

  3. As hilarious as it is, the FA really are a joke. Just plucking random numbers from wherever with no consistency, deciding which incidents to punish and which not to based on technicalities. The fact Defoe got away with just a yellow for an identical incident, whereas another player is given a 10 game ban... it's absurd.

This is the ridiculous thing about it. IMO the 10 game ban is harsh on LFC. As much as I don't like that club, the fans who pay good money to watch the team, as well as the manager and Suarez' teammates will be deprived of their best player for 10 games. The punishment targets LFC far more than Suarez himself.

IMO he should get the standard 3 match ban for violent conduct, with a massive financial fine added on top of that. Say 7 weeks' wages to complete the "10". He should be warned on future conduct, with exponentially increasing fines and possible lawsuits for bringing the game into disrepute.

The big book should be thrown at Suarez big time, but not the club he plays for, as I'm pretty sure he didn't bite anyone under instruction.

My feeling is that the 10 game ban is to exert pressure on Liverpool to sell the c*** in the summer, and even in that case it is unfair on the club who could have to settle for a knockdown fee. Again, they suffer and not the offender himself.

None of this is the FA's fault, only Suarez to blame here. Some level headed Liverpool fans even see this, though not many.

Absolutely! But is him sitting out for 10 games a punishment? He'll get an early summer vacation and still earn a fuck load of money. What kind of punishment is that?

  4. Disagree wholeheartedly with that, this is the risk you take when you buy absolute pricks.

I understand that. I'm just playing devil's advocate because the FA really ARE a bunch of fuckwits, and I cannot wrap my head around their random decision making. It's a travesty that Aguero gets away scot-free while Giroud's appeal was turned down and he has to serve a 3 match ban. McManaman gets nothing, and Cabaye gets 3(?) matches for his retaliation on El Abd.

It's an absolute joke, and this willy nilly arbitration affects clubs more than they punish the player. By all accounts, Suarez had cleaned up his act relatively of late, so how were his club supposed to know he would do this?

Believe me, I hate the cunt with the fire of a thousand suns. Just feel that the FA are dicking around with the rules and there are no standards to adhere to.

  6. I suppose I can see the point that playoffs are supposed to serve. Having more teams win the title than just the elite few helps to spread the joy amongst fans up and down the country (and world). It is entertainment afterall, and anyone who supports any sporting team does so with the hope that they will one day celebrate winning something.

  7. Papiss Demba Cisse ‏@CissePapiss 3m

Congrats to man utd for winning the premiere league. 1 day we will win it.

    :)

    :aww:

Don;t know what this fella's smoking, but I want some of his shisha now.

  8. Try anything to change it, there has to be some fresh ideas

                  Elliot

    Debu  Tayls  Colo  Mass

                    MYM

          Cabs              Sisso

                  Benny

        Cisse                Gouf

the team is low on confidence and not playing well i think we would be much better off going back to basics and putting round pegs in rounds holes by putting players in their right positions rather than experimenting in such a big game.

I love that team except with Anita/Tiote instead of MYM. It's my FIFA formation, and I've been delivering some serious anal rapage with it online. But I do agree with binnsy, as this is real life.

We have no natural wingers, so don't need to play anyone in a fixed wide role. Would love to have been safe by now to give things like this a try in preparation for next season. I have a feeling Cisse and Gouffran would  dovetail nicely up front together.

  9. How brave is Mike  :mike:

They do it here in the Cypriot league. 12 teams. Split into 3 groups of 4. Top four together, so on and so forth. They play each of the teams over two legs, with points counting as normal. Only thing it does is give the team say in third the chance to take points off the team in second etc. rather than a team at the bottom. Points gained and lost only at the top kind of thing. They go into the playoffs with their regular season points total, and continue adding to that.

For such a small p*ss poor league, it works.

  10. Fantastic stuff. This Qatar world cup sham is a stain on football. I hope this isn't forgotten and FIFA are shown up for what they are.

    :serious:

No place to be hosting a World Cup ahead of some of the bigger footballing nations. Plus I'm pretty sure they didn't "win" the right to host on merit. It's a massive scandal waiting to unfold.

  11. Last year against Liverpool was the midfield 3 of Guthrie, Cabaye and Tiote. The defence was Simpson, Perch, Williamson and Jonas. Unbelievable how s*** we are now with better individuals.

Just shows what momentum and confidence can do, and how easy it is for players to perform above or below their level.

Come on man its a lot more than that.... the midfield is disjointed now by comparison we hit long ball after long ball.

In that game the whole team was balanced as f*ck and everyone were suited to their roles and we actually played positively and hardly resorted to long balls even Williamson was passing it out from the back

A lot more than just momentum and confidence has changed.... the tactics, set up and mentality is just all wrong.

erm...because of our downward momentum and lack of confidence?

I'm veeeery much on the Pardew out NOW brigade, but what Ian says there is absolutely correct, and I won't let anyone hammer him for that  :knuppel2:

Sure he's a big lad and can manage himself though.

  12. Unsurprisingly, the idiots at RAWK are lapping up that Suarez tweet about the club giving the proceeds of the fine to charity. Nobody has even questioned why he isn't putting his own money in rather than the club's.. :idiot2:

Watched the match down at the pub last night with quite a few Liverpool supporters. When the biting incident happened, and they were losing, they were all fuming shouting how he's a disgrace to the club and the fans, and that he deserved getting a lengthy ban and getting sold.

After the final whistle they were on their google searching for the Defoe-Mascherano story, and claiming Suarez should escape a ban because Defoe did.  :idiot2:

  13. This lot are the definition of mid table mediocrity without Suarez.  No excuses for not beating them at home.
