  1. Jurgen Klopp; "The only way to reach your dream is to be brave." And that is the biggest problem with Pardew, his lack of football bravery, his cowardice. Setting up his teams negatively, highlighted with his starting selection against Benfica at home (some people on her ludicrously defended this) and Liverpool last weekend. This attitude is not going to change, as Pardew is incapable of coaching the present set of players we have to attack a game without us getting picked off on the counter. Letting our hair down at Spurs, Wigan away (4-0) and Man Utd (4-3) and Arsenal (7-3) illustrate the point perfectly. Talking of cowardice, Ashley is in danger of joining Pardew, firstly by employing him in the first place and secondly in not sacking him. Hopefully this summer he grows some balls as well.

I agree. The mind boggling thing though is how last season we had some games where we actually went for it on the whole. Stoke, West Brom and Bolton away, as well as the home matches against Man Utd and Liverpool off the top of my head. Why is it not a basic characteristic of his football when it has produced some great results?

Spurs and Wigan away last season we were torn to shreds and were never in the game. The other two away games you mention there we had a proper go, and it blew up in our faces. Two different circumstances though. At Old Trafford we nearly came away with a point. The Arsenal result ended up a freak result, and isn't the sort of thing that will happen every week.

Can't get my head around his archaic way of thinking. It must be a fear factor in him, probably because he knows that overall, and in the long term, he's just not good enough.

  2. To be honest, at the current moment you guys should have the serenity that any fan from a Historical Club must have.

We're not talking about Chelsea or PSG or some other fake team built with money.

A Historical club like NUFC has its highs and lows, and as fans you should know how to deal with the weight of History, by which I mean: Serenity, confidence, knowing that in these situations it's simple - either the players are up to the challenge, or they're not.

As fans, all you have to do is support your club, and be prepared. This is just one more year in a club with 100+ years :)

Anyhow, I am pretty sure you'll make it through.

I understand your sentiments, but you only have to look at Leeds Utd, Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Birmingham City, the two Sheffield clubs etc. to realize that no matter how historical you are, the gap between the top division and the rest is so big that your once historical club can easily disappear into oblivion.

  3. I think the key to this is playing two strikers. Cisse needs every help he can get. Gouffran does a shit load of running and can easily open spaces up for Cisse. Throw HBA in behind them and the WH defence will have a lot to worry about.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we do not need to play with width in midfield because we don't have the personnel for it. Give HBA the chance to play in the position he can do most damage in and give Cisse some fucking support!

Do WH have any key players missing?

  4. Kept waking up thinking of this s*** situation last night.  What a fuckin mess.

It's like a slow lingering wait on death row. Why did this season have to go on so long, can't they just shoot us now?

That cheated handball goal at Wigan could be the most costly refereeing mistake in the history of English football.

If we had a decent manager and people at the top who knew what they were doing, the Wigan hand-ball wouldn't have mattered one bit...

Using this as an excuse for being relegated is REALLY grasping at straws....

I wasn't using it as an excuse, you've just conveniently read that into it.  It was however an extremely significant incident.

Correct. And a match we did not deserve to lose.

  5. The french players that are here all came to be part of a "project". The club and Pardew must have really made one hell of a pitch when they met. They obviously now realize that Pardew is just a fraud and that under him there is no project. He's not a leader by any means (in the same way that Hughton wasn't), and it looks like his football isn't up to scratch.

Hughton had us safe as houses with a far inferior squad, I personally think he could have done a decent job with better players and it's a shame he wasn't given the chance to. I don't see how he wasn't a leader either, he's one of the most important figures in our recent history for the way he led us out of the Championship when everyone was petrified we'd be down there for a number of years.

The post was not a sleight on Hughton. He's a football man through and through (cliche I know), and he managed to do well because of that. I'm alluding to the fact that Pardew is neither a leader or a football guru, whereas at least Hughton knew what he was doing. Plus Hughton has far more experience working under some top names in management, so he'll have seen it all.

  7. Say we got relegated our team next season could be this ..

                                  Elliot

    Tarvenier      Saylor      Good    Haidara

                  Bigirimana      Jonas

    Sammy                Inman            Ferguson

                                Ameobi

Wed see Sissoko, Gouffran, Debuchy, Mbiwa, Coloccini, Santon, Simpson, Cabaye, Tiote, Anita, Cisse, Marveaux, HBA all leave. Obviously wed need to make 2 or three signings .. but it looks disastrous.

I think that's probably a bit dramatic. We'd see transfers, but not the whole damn squad.

who do you think would stay

Gouffran and possibly Anita and Marveaux

  8. I'm pretty sure you guys will make it, you're a Classic European Club.

    Classic Clubs rule!  :rose:

Somehow I feel a tiny bit more optimistic with the likes of yourself, Neil, Leffe and Wacko around. Pray for us jotenko man. Pray for us.

    Of course.  :rose:

If we survive the drop, and you prove to be a sexy minx of a lucky charm, I pledge to donate 30 Euros to the SLB forum you came from  :aww:

They'll just spend it on softcore gay porn.

 All the better. More fun for you no? :shifty:

No time for jokes now, it's time to get together and try to save NUFC from relegation, and myself pray to win EL and Portuguese League.

    :ben:

    Aye right.

    :alone:

  12. Fucking hell all this panic is making me.....panic  :'(

Can we not bloody man up and cling to the hope that we, as a club, will pull something out of the bag to save ourselves? With Turdew still in charge, the ONLY positive in our current situation is that our fate is in our own hands, and we don't mathematically have to count on others to fuck up.

I'd take survival and the shitehawk manager in charge until christmas than going down.

What a desperate situation. Fkn Ashley man

  13. Just realised Villa have some mahoosive games coming up. Sunderland tonight, away to Norwich (who are in freefall),Chelsea, then Wigan away last game of the season. Hopefully that will be the decider between them two on who stays up and who goes down.

Lambert going back to Carrow Road for the first time?

  14. It really depends how much trust Pardew has with the players, he lost them on Saturday and it's up to him for to get it back if not we won't get another point for the rest of the season.

I would like to think they're having a team meeting today where nothing is off the table - get them to tell him exactly why they're so p*ssed off.

Ask the senior players what team/formation they would select and agree to give it a try. Anything really, just whatever it is he's been doing lately, f***ing stop it!

I agree wholeheartedly. I just hope he's not too stubborn to do this. Something drastic needs be done.

  15. Right so it seems this incompetent turd is still here for the run-in.

What I'd like him to do is magnify the articles that brand our french troop as having no fight in them, and stick them up on the board in the training ground. I don't like that notion myself, and would like our french players to come out fighting against WH and prove the papers wrong.

The papers talk as if no team in France has ever survived relegation, or come back from behind to win. It's an utter fabrication and should be used to fire up our players.

I'm convinced Pardew will not be here next season, so we need every fucking trick in the book to make our players get 2-4 points that we will need to stop up.

  16. They say they're both down.  Surely one could technically stay up on goal difference?

    Villa v Wigan.

Yeah, but say Wigan win every game and get out of trouble. Say Villa lose every game (including the Wigan match), and one of QPR or Reading wins every game and improve goal difference....could they not stop up and send Villa down? I feel really thick as I still don't get it.

  17. Feel for the mod who had to keep updating the thread title as the goals flew in. Must have been excruciating to hit backspace>>6.

Shout out to whomever it was.

Aye, what a hero. Never mind the roughly twent five thousand who stayed in their seats until the end of the 90 minutes. Lad at home updating a forum deserves our respect.

It's pretty obvious that it hurt every single fan that watched the match or even just read the score. I'm just saying it must have been pretty shitty having to sit there and moderate a forum thread. Must have rubbed more salt in an already gaping wound.
