  1. i simply cant muster any frustration with him for saying all that because he's absolutely right imo

Naming players the way he's done goes a step too far, regardless of "how oh so right" he is. Guess some on here have never worked in a professional environment, and don't have a clue what outside interference can do to morale. My one and only concern is that these players who are still with us remain focused on the football, and not get fidgety because some cunt who's been chucked out on his arse is shit stirring, and creating waves in the media.

  2. It's none of your business you f***ing attention whore.

    He is right tho.

So what? Does he deserve a biscuit? Trawl the threads for the players he's mentioned, and you'll see how many times people have posted suspecting they would be sold this window or that. We already know this! There's no need for him to stir shit, when it will have absolutely no impact on the situation whatsoever.

  3.

Some great tweets by that cunt! Can't imagine his former teammates being too happy with that. He's shit stirring for the sake of it, and no fucker can tell me it's good on him because he points the finger at Ashley and Dekka. Warnock and QPR should shut him the fuck up! Plus if I were a QPR fan, I wouldn't be happy with a player who showed in public just how bitter he was to leave his old club, having signed for a new one.

    Twat of the highest order.

  4. What winds me up the most is just how little would actually be required to appease the fans.

Noone in here ( Well ok a few granted) have a problem with selling a player when we are offered that much money for him, as long as you bring in SOMEONE in his place.

Take your pick of talented striker talents for 5 mill Euro in europe, hell - buy two of them. Still leaves you with a 25 million pound profit, and the fans would have had SOMETHING to hang their coats on.

Selling and not replacing with ANYONE is an insult, let alone disappointing.

Looks like we agree on something

Obviously can't replace Carroll with just ANYONE per se. Can't say I'd have been happy with Clinton Morrison as his replacement, but yeah, as you say, it wouldn't have taken much for them to get the fans off their back. Fans will be eternally optimistic about their club's fortunes, it's the reason we support football clubs that don't win everything year in year out. But then again, it's also the reason they take us for mugs. Just the way it works I suppose.

  5.

Yup. He'll get paid as long as he's fit for selection. In the case of injuries, I'd presume he'd still get paid if he got injured in a clash of heads, or a routine hamstring pull etc..., but not for recurring knee injuries. Must be. Doesn't make any sense otherwise.

    Oh, it makes perfect sense....

  6. Tbh i still dont see this as a leveraged buyout a la Man United...we're not paying interest on a loan to a bank...Mike Ashley floated Sports Direct for alot more than he bought us for so he bought us outright, unless ive missed something it seems legit...

It is not. Why do people still discuss this? Mike Ashley bought the club with his own money, then he paid the clubs debts of with his own money, this as a interest free loan which he wants to get back over time. The only way he will get his money back is by selling the club for a very high price or running the club with profit for a number of years.

This is technically the best we could have hoped for, barring a ridiculous Man City-esque buyout where debt just doesnt exist...this does mean we may suffer more Carroll-esque problems where we become a selling club but the problem isnt the selling, its the not replacing...the board think we are demanding they spend £35mil, we demand they just replace players going out with quality...

but yeah i think there is some knee-jerk to some figures in this thread tbh...

Agreed. Selling a star center forward for 35M is all well and good, but at least use your supposedly top class scouting network to take a punt on unearthing gems, and show us that this model COULD work, if the club worked hard enough behind the scenes. Earlier in the summer it really looked like it was working, up until they flopped big time failing to secure the mobile forward we desperately need to make our "new tactics" work.

  7. Radio Newcastles John Anderson said last night on the phone in that he believes Ba is on a 'pay as you play' deal. Might explain his lack of appearances, right up Ashleys street that one!

I don't think that is how a "pay as you play" contract works in Ba's case.  His contract contingencies must be related to his knee in particular. If he's not playing because of knee troubles, he doesn't get paid. But if he's benched due to a strategical choice made by Pards, he's paid like the rest of the bunch.

  8. i bleed black and white not red and blue. I love newcastle united not sports direct united. I probley would stop supporting although im not entirly sure because im very attached atm. If however it were to happen and say angry fans made a reborn NUFC like wilbedon(dunno how to spell it) fans did then that reborn club would have my support.

    i love this guy

  9. Why would we be so utterly f***ed if Pardew went? We seemed to be doing fine before he came, had a perfectly average spring season and to be frank, had 3 lucky results playing planless hoofball.

Excellent results now in august but honestly they dont reflect how we have played at all.

Pardew is a decent manager but his track record before he came here is very underwhelming, seems like he is the tyneside version of Guardiola for a couple of lads on this forum already..

    What absolute donkey w***.

 the hyperbole is hilarious. Not enough facepalms in the world...

  10. If he says 100% with regards signing a striker, then we don't sign a f***ing striker then of course he's a liar. Do you even know what 100% means?

Come off it man! What exactly does he stand to gain from deliberately lying?? Do you think he lies to appease the fans? And what if he came out and said we weren;t likely to bring a striker, it's not like there would be mass riots of NUFC fans invading the training ground and smashing his head in!

I just can't see what he would gain. In fact he'd have been better off playing down speculation, and keeping expectations as low as possible, had he known for a fact that we wouldn't be recruiting a forward!

  11. Results and performances on the pitch don't matter then? I was under the impression that was quite a large part of a managers job

Nope. Some are just too obsessed with transfer activity or what is said in press conferences.

  12. Don't make promises you can't keep then. Is that so difficult?

I remember Chris Hughton denying knowledge of Ben Arfa even when we all knew he was on Tyneside - that is a lie told for the benefit of the supporters in case things go awry. Pardew has told lies for nearly a year to fool supporters and placate his despicable employers.

He's a complete dickhead and while his bosses are a bigger problem, it will be a very happy day when this arsehole is no longer associated with NUFC.

Yup. Can't wait for Kinnear to come back me

  13. Has he said anything so far about the window? Is there a conference scheduled? Can't wait for the new (same as the old) quotes.

Pretty sure Ba wanted to bring a few bodies in at the eleventh hour before the window slammed shut, but was too busy fasting

  14. I'm getting a headache going through this thread. Can someone clear up a something?

Ashley bought the club for £140m. He loaned the club £140m to pay off debts. What were these debts? To whom were they owed?

    Creditors? Banks?

    That's cleared that up then.

    1) Stadium redevelopment 'mortgage'

    2) Transfer fees for players already playing for the club (£Xm spread over Y years)

    3) The difference between revenue and player wages (plus any other operating costs)

    4) An initial player investment when he first took over the club and didn't realise the full extent of the finances (i.e. Smith, Barton, etc.)

    5) Barclays overdraft

    6) Other short-term loans that Shepherd and co had taken out against the club (underwritten by the training ground, academy, potential MGM casino, etc)

So, the £140m Ashley loan: what happens to that when he sells?

Gets it back in the form of profit/break-even depending on the price met I presume?

  15. I worry for Everton (sorry Neil :( )

Can't see Jagielka & Baines hanging around much longer now either.

    Genuine question to Neil:

Many felt that NUFC's relegation helped re-generate the club in some ways. Do you fear relegation? or do you think, should it happen, it may help the club get sold to someone who'll turn it around? On paper, the squad is too good to go down, but how much longer can you go on plodding along, stretching your resources to the limit?

Wont ever happen, way too solid. Way more solid than us when i come to think about it, easily in half an echelon over.

    Us on the other hand..

Aye I know, but sometimes it doesn't matter what players you have. If bad feelings and negativity start to fester at a club, key results can go against you, and before you know it you find yourself in the shit. Just wondering what Neil's thoughts are (and those of the general Everton public).
