I read your 'explanation'. Didn't realise I had to agree with you like, sorry
You facepalmed a guy for making a factual post worthy of discusion. You could have chose to leave the thread and not said a word, but it actualy seems that you've stuck around and joined in with said discusion (which you originaly facepalmed).Absolutely nothing wrong with the opening post. Quite frankly anyone who thinks there is, is thick as mince.
To the person on the opening page who came out with the soopafan nonsense (can't be arsed to check who it was) have a word with yourself for f*** sake.
It was I. I've had a word with meself. Keegan is God and from this day forth I shall w*** over how right our ex-players and manager were. Thanks for setting me right fella
Odd realy.
I explained myself. If you can't be arsed to read said explanation, then that's your prerogative.
Should we continue to bicker?
Over a pint? You're buying

I never said that at all like, but by all means continue to speak for me if it makes you feel any better.
It's good enough to hopefuly maintain what we achieved last season, mid-table mediocrity. Unless we have a s*** load of luck, our squad isn't good enough to do any better.
Last season we had Krul, Enrique, Coloccini, Jonas, Tiote, Barton, Nolan, Carroll & Ben Arfa making up the bulk of our squad. We could have added the rest for about 10 million. That would have given me a reason to be optimistic. The sad thing is that a lot on here didn't heed the warnings of the past or such quotes as above and actually thought we'd spend on a striker. Quite cute really that people can still be optimistic despite Ashley' regime continually feeding us lies and broken promises.
Even with the lies and broken promises, we have Krul, Santon, Coloccini, Jonas, Tiote, Cabaye, Marveaux & Ben Arfa who'll make up the bulk of the squad in the near future...is that not reason enough to be optimistic?
I genunly think some people on here would think "oh well, atleast i'll save money on socks!" if they lost a leg, it's alright been posotive, but to hold such a one way optomistic viewpoint on literaly everything that happens cannot be healthy.
Couldn't give a flying f*** how much we spent, what the "balance book" is if we create a good squad, we could have done with another striker and centre-back but that squad's still good enough to do well.
The only posotive this season imo is that Ashley may be one step closer to the door.
I thought looking for positives tonight made one thick as mince?
It was indeed some other cheeky fucker
You were merely astounded by the futile attempts at positivity. Apologies.

I think its not about Best scoring or not, if we place a halfway decent lad on top, he will score every now and then. The question is, are we really getting to the point were we are happy with a perfectly mediocre tap-in striker? I for one would actually expect us to have a number 1 striker capable of creating something out of nothing, someone who is at least somewhat unplayable on his day. I mean I can accept Lovenkrants going missing like a deer come hunting season since he is ( or ought to be) a #3 sub, but as a clear first choice?
During our relegation season Shola would be hard-pressed to even make the bench, nowadays hes one of the first names on the sheet, bloody hell..
Agreed. Pretty sure Ba and Best will miss large chunks of the season, and that's the real worry.

in favour of what ?Anyone who isn't directing vile abuse towards Mike Ashley needs to sort there craic out.
and who isn't?
This is the point, just because we dont believe everything those players reckoned doesn't mean we dont hate Ashley, i certainly do.
It's not even that mate. I believe the players more than I'd believe the fans or journos, as they actually worked for the club, and knew more about the way it was run than anyone else did!! I just don't see the point in bringing it up. Instead of posting quotes from Keegan and Enrique on a message board, protest with your feet! You can sit here pining for King Kev and lapping up everything he says all you want. It won't change the fact that Ashley owns this club. I'd much rather be part of a concerted and organized effort to force the c*** out of the club.
also the players you mention, did they ever mention their wages in conjunction with imploring ashley to invest ?
Genuinely don't understand what you're asking in relation to my post.

Pretty astounded people are still trying to put a posotive spin on things now like
I can lend you a razor if you like.

No facepalms needed here. All true
No one's arguing otherwise. Point is, so fucking what? Gets on my tits when people stick their necks out with I told you so's like they're some kind of soopafans. It's pathetic.

Biscuits all around then.

KEVIN KEEGAN reckons Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will not see a penny of Andy Carroll's £35million transfer fee.
Toon owner Mike Ashley has promised the money raised from Carroll's deadline day move to Liverpool will be invested on new players in the summer.
But former Tyne idol Keegan warned: "I thought at the time 'Alan, you ain't going to get any of that'."
And how does that help in any way shape or form?
Help?
How do any of the posts in this thread help....
It's a stupid post that doesn't help the mood. Don't think anyone on this forum is content with the failure to bring a forward in. Don't see the point in digging up Keegan quotes.
because he's been proved absolutely right, perhaps?
Righto. He deserves a biscuit. So if people "knew all along", why didn't they protest or stop going to the games?

Shall I post the quotes from Enrique, Barton, Nolan etc as well? They've had a golden opportunity to put this club back on the map this summer, all we needed was a bit of investment, and we could have really had a push for Europe this season. Yet again, they've us "customers" which is all we are to Ashley, have been f***ed over again.
The big worry for me is how long can we keep hold of Coloccini, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Santon, Cabaye etc? They're not going to be happy for much longer playing for a club with such little ambition.
I agree completely. Just trying to find any reason to remain positive. We don't need Keegan to tell us that the owner of the football club is an amateur.

Lower midtable if we're lucky with injuries and suspensions.
It was alright watching Ameobi and Lovernkrands faff about up front in the first few games, thinking we'd bring a mobile forward in eventually. Not too confident now.

Really trying to dampen the fury by taking solace in the hope that we'll bring in a good striker in January, who could save our season. Regardless of the reality we seem to live with our gormless owner and his cronies, I'm sincerely hoping they did everything they could to bring in a quality striker, without being held to ransom, and that Ruiz simply chose Fulham over us, rather than it being a fake bid.
Doesn't bode well though does it.
-
This summer was all about replacing a player worthy of England's number 9 shirt and worth 35 million quid. Giving it a 1 would be too generous imo.
So only a £35m striker would have made you happy? Or is there more to it than that?
Pretty sure Wullie would have been happy with 15 million spent on Ruiz.
-
When all else fails, think of Cabaye Ben Arfa
-
They've gone and undone all the good early work by not bringing a striker and backup defender in. The Ruiz and Ridgewell deals looked like exactly what we needed, and I fucking hate them for giving us so much hope so close to the deadline, and bolloxing it all up. Not happy, despite the good players we've already signed.

The latest is Socheaux told us to f*** right off.
When was this? Can't flick through the pages to look

or the next Luis Suarez. Speculate to accumulate. It's not like he was coming here without any pedigree whatsoever. I wouldn't have spent 10m on Crouch, but would have gladly spent more on Ruiz.
