    btw, it's Aliadiere

Nice to have some excitement to be honest, in a summer of inactivity. I really hope we are not getting ourselves all worked up over nothing.

    Of course we are!

Happens every year that's half the fun of supporting the toon

    nail on head bonny lass

  3. Ummm, sorry to have to inject a bit of reason and sanity here, but just two small points:

    1. Transfer activity has been slow across the EPL, and we are on par with everyone else currently.

    2. There is still a month to go in the transfer window

What a stupid thread full of ridiculous posts. How can anyone on here pretend to know anything about the current transfer market situation? Lets wait and see how things go over the next couple of weeks at least, for the love of god.

Would you all rather we jumped in early and filled up on Spurs rejects?

    I agree.

  4. Deportivo La Coruna, who have turned down a first Newcastle bid for defender Fabricio Coloccini, are on the verge of signing his replacement, the Mexican Diego Colotto.

“Colotto’s name is at the top our list, I like him because he is aggressive, has a European passport and his football resembles Coloccini’s,” coach Miguel Angel Lotina told a press conference.

f***ing hell the names of the people involved in this deal are confusing as f***!! Lendoiro, Lotina, and who was the agent again?

    Manager - Lotina

    Chairman/President - Leindoiro

    Agent - Lombarda

    cheers Lenrique  :pow:

  5. Clearly, neither have you.

not that I need to explain myself to you, but here goes:

in practical terms, I think Owen is our best player when on top form.

in theory though, Viduka, when top form (which has never really happened since his Leeds days) is the better player.

  6. Spurs fan on another forum I'm on (he's not really ITK himself but he knows plenty of ITKs in real life and on Spurs boards) says that King is "f***ed". By that, he means his career is more or less over.

Apparantly it's bollocks. The thread was bumped.

yeah, apparently it was some alternative ITK fraction that agreed on that

aye. the east london chapter. i would know. im ITK

  8. Spurs have booked 2 medicals at the private clinic they use, one for tomorrow, the other for Monday.  Don't know who.

How do you know they are Medicals as opposed to scans etc?

    "ITK's are agreed".

would the real spurs ITK please stand up please stand up please stand up

  9. It's incredible how people will just blatantly misread things and get angry about them.

2 in 2 weeks isnt that encouraging either Dave. We're still going to be very short of quality and quantity come the start of the season. And now with Viduka missing we can expect to see plenty of Ameobi and Smith.

I'm not saying things are looking all brilliant and rosy in our garden (like some think I am).

It just makes me laugh how people read 'I'm sure in the next two weeks we will see at least two signings coming in' and only seem to notice 'two signings'.

I have to say I've been very patient with the owner and recruitment team so far but if we miss out on Coloccini I'm gonna scream bloody murder. There's only so much we can take before everyone will snap.

    Jesus wept.

If we miss out on Coloccini it is not the boards fault. We agreed a fee, we discussed personal terms, Deportivo upped what they were asking and quite rightly we're refusing to rise to it. That's a pretty low way to go about transfer dealings and I for one am glad we're not folding like we did under Shepherd.

We're not going to get a better player than him. We're a mid table club with nothing to offer players at all. If we have to pay over the odds to get him then frankly that's what we need to do.
