  1. Same here. The thread title is an absolute dagger to the heart as a stand-alone sentence. But when i think about it i'm really not that arsed. It's been coming for a while and although long-suffering NO-type fans don't really deserve it, most people connected to the club including the Luv Pardew brigade, deserve nothing less.

  2. If Rafa stay's I would be quite happy for him not to speak to the press till the day before our first game in the Championship I would have total faith in him doing a great job that I would require zero spin from him to get me exited for the season ahead.

What's up with all the serious posts all of a sudden chopey man? You alright?

  3. Be quite funny if Norwich managed to pull off two wins and both us and the mackems went down. We keep Rafa and I'll laugh my ass off all the way to promotion.

  4. I'm not saying Rafa will stay but a season in the Championship is 9 months (August to May). If he stayed and was given free reign over the whole club to put his rebuild plans into place, surely he'd be confident that he'd get us promotion at his first attempt? He was interested in taking us on as a project. Is a 9 month stay in the Championship really a deal breaker on a 3 year project (his contract is for 3 years)? At least he may be able to get rid of the losing mentality from the club if we were winning most games.

i don't think he'll be that bothered by the championship, i'm convincing myself he's going to stay

 Just leaning into the uppercut here, mojo.

 This is what happens when you only follow one sport. We have to allocate our pain over several. Knock out punch vs. body blows.

 Follow s*** teams long enough and you're like

  5. I hope he stays away, we are down now and I hope we crash and burn. With Rafa that wont happen. Ashley's time is up.

Problem is, that's only true if he thinks it is - he's answerable to no-one (including the fans, he made that crystal clear), and the decision to leave is his and his alone. And unless someone ponys up his asking price (on which, even with relegation, he won't budge) then he stays.

In my opinion he has made three good decisions - appointing Chris Mort (which he subsequently f*cked up), appointing Chris Hughton (which argumentably was a default decision out of his hands) and appointing Rafa Benitez (an astounding coup - months too late). Going down with Rafa gives me the same hope I had about 6 weeks into the last championship season, when it was clear we were going to absolutely walk it. Lose Rafa and that rag-tag bunch of semi professional sh*t-for-brains in the board, and the tourists on the pitch give me no hope whatsoever.

If Rafa has the cojones to stay and fight, he could go down as legendary, not just at NUFC, but in football management as a whole. Would Wenger take on such a challenge? Mourinho? Guardiola? Like f*ck would they. Im not so, *cough* 'deluded' as to think NUFC are some sort of holy grail for managers, but Rafa is here now, we've had a glimpse of what he's capable of and to lose him after only 9 games would be a criminal waste of a fantastic opportunity

    Top post

  6. He really didn't have a "fantastic" record at Leicester, no more fantastic than any manager who brings a club up from the Championship and keeps them up, like tons of managers have. Howe and Flores have both done it this season without having to be rock bottom until 32 weeks have gone. Steve Bruce and Paul Lambert have both done the same in recent seasons. I really don't understand where he has suddenly got such a big reputation from.

Having Rafa has reminded me that, actually, I quite like being proud of the manager. I doubt even his own mother doesn't think Pearson's a complete dickhead.

    Probably true

  7. You go one way or another man. A week ago you wanted us up now you want to burn it no matter what.

I'm of the mindset  that if Rafa goes I'm basically in the burning it all down camp. But if he stays I'll be backing it and him full on.

I wanted us up of course, but now that we are down, I want us to stay down until the fat c*** f***s off. If Raf stays... well I'm going to be seriously torn. I actually prefer the man over my entire club how f***ing daft is that.

I don't think you're preferring the man over the club. More what this man represents. The professionalism, dignity, passion and knowledge of the game we all crave. Rafa could well become an iconic figure for NUFC for centuries to come if the club had a clue.

    :(

  8. Who authorised Paul Dummett's contract extension? Why would Rafa do that if he then planned to leave? Dummett still had a year to run on his contract so it's not like it couldn't have been sorted at the end of the season. A possible indication that Rafa might stay?

If our relegation is confirmed on Wednesday I hope NUFC/Rafa make a quick announcement on whether he is staying or not. Rafa staying would give everyone a huge lift and we'd almost be going into the Championship on a positive.

This! Dare I say the atmosphere at home to Spurs would actually be one of celebratory relief rather than downright toxic. I don't know which is the more realistic scenario, mackems implode and we stay up by beating Spurs, or Rafa deciding to stay when we go down. Either way we need a statement of intent from the club ASAP.

  9. The scenario where Ashley sells off to someone else with a genuine interest in owning a successful NUFC will not happen before he's made at least one attempt to bring us back up. He has a stranglehold on the club for the time being and I fear we are nowhere near getting rid. Rather have stayed up with Benitez because of that tbh.

  10. I know that Rafa is a serious step up from the recent s*** managers we've had, but that's no reason for him to be above criticism for today's shambles. It's not so much the team he picked that was the problem, it's the fact we stood off Villa, gave them possession and confidence, and ambled around pointlessly for most of the match. What's wrong with playing two forwards, attacking them from the off and going for the jugular?

Shouldn't be a surprise to anybody really, Rafa has always been a defensive manager and he loves his 4231. It's like watching most of Mourinho's teams, it's boring and it's w***.

I hear what you're saying but Cisse being turboshit left him with no choice. I knew the moment he misplaced that pass to Colback so carelessly that he would be hooked and never seen at NUFC again. Was surprised that he actually did it only moments after.

  11. Hopefully Khazri breaks Defoe's leg in training and Allardyce breaks Khazri's face straight after. It's our only hope

Who the fuck is this khazri some fat fucking no mark swinging a boot at it for a deflection. I'm fucking livid man. Seriously livid. And dont get me started on that cockroach borini.

  12. They've played with spirit at the right time and invested in a proven goalscorer who has basically kept them up single handed. They probably deserve to stay up ahead of us.

Haivng said that, next season they'll have another bottom half finish watching Allardyce football, don't think I would swap places with them tbh.

Spirit? Seriously? have you seen Borini or Yedlin man? Fuck them. Defoe is the only thing that has made the difference for them. That's where they've trumped us. Buying an ageing Defoe on the scrapheap from the Canadian league ffs.

  13. Get to f*** you f***ing cesspool of a club and city. f***ing vermin getting the rub of it with that bollocks pen at Stoke and two deflected goals today. What can you f***ing do except look at the way NUFC has kept them up 4 years running. f*** off the lot of you inbred b******s.

Don't forget they knowingly fielded a nonce for their own gain. Never forget that.

Of course not. Birds of a feather and all that. It's the malbec talking but I don't give a fuck. It didn't hit me this afternoon but it has now and I'm fucking incensed that gobshite twats like allardyce pardew and pulis get to manage in the PL next season and Rafa won't. Fuck football man.

  14. Get to fuck you fucking cesspool of a club and city. Fucking vermin getting the rub of it with that bollocks pen at Stoke and two deflected goals today. What can you fucking do except look at the way NUFC has kept them up 4 years running. Fuck off the lot of you inbred bastards.

  15. Is it fair to say Pep Guardiola failed at Bayern Munich?

I think it's fairer to say that he's nowhere near the finished article with all the hype he's got. Still has some weaknesses that he'll need to figure out. Not sure going to Man City will help tbh.
