  1. Has more talent in his big toe than most of our squad. Clearly out of sorts lately, but it's more to do with him trying too hard to make an impact and impress Rafa/the fans than anything else. He's just not playing his natural game which was ever so smooth and elegant. He's just stuttering and bouncing all over the place and can hardly bring a ball under control like we're used to him doing.

  2. Ultimately the most impressive thing about Anita for me is that he's been totally up for this fight whereas Janmaat, even with all his theatrics and chest beating, has bottled it. Anita had his best game for us against WH last year when also playing at RB IIRC and he epitomised the bravery and determination we needed to win that game and stay up.

  3. Contract extension agreed. Rubber stamped by Rafa apparently.

Dummett is one of the last he would look to move on. Does the basics of his position well. Understands defending and has a good 'tude.

    atti too much for you?

  4. Much rather bring in a better LB than Dummett and shift him to the pool of CB's. We know he can cover at LB if the need arises but I still feel he's better in the middle. Mbemba, Lascelles, Dummett and the addition of a quality CB with some experience wouldn't be a bad set to choose from.

  5. I love it when he comes in-field when the play is on the opposite wing, and makes that darting last-man run as Cisse occupies the defenders. It still hasn't quite come off for us yet but I think with time it could become a lethal weapon with his pace and decent finishing to have a run on goal 1 on 1 with the keeper.

  6. Can't see him at West Brom or Crystal Palace like. Despite everything Ashley has done to this club, we're still in a different league in terms of prestige.

I think we are as well, although I'm not sure how much that means these days. I just think if he's willing to come to Newcastle and potentially get relegated, he's willing to spend a season or two with teams like that for an easy life.

Sorry like but nothing about Rafa's career screams out "easy life". He's addicted to football beyond help. He'll want nothing to do with an easy football life. It's the reason he's here in the first place.

  7. The Cypriot league is corrupt as fuck. It was practically known beforehand that Ketsbaia's team APOEL would take the title and Apollon (my team that knocked APOEL out of the cup) would take the cup. Nothing is confirmed of course but there's always murmurs and the results always seem to back up the rumours.

He was in no way sacked because of results. Must have been something else.

  8. Been told that Mbabu us fit and is likely to play RB with Colback LB, Colo and Mbemba in the centre and that Sissoko could be benched.

Colo? Thought he was confirmed as out?

Good news about Mbabu if true.

It's what I was told, this bloke knows a few at the club and was at the U21's midweek.

Better news about Sissoko. Wonder if the invisible man in centre will survive.

My missus is due to give birth so will hopefully give this a complete miss

Good luck mate  hope all goes well.

Cheers, should do. Cant't wait for sleepless nights again with my toddler and new born destroying my sleep patterns :).

Just hope it happens today as overdue and I could give this match a clear miss.

All the best man. NUFC is irrelevant at times like these. Hopefully you'll receive double the good news by tomorrow evening.

  9. He refused to run down the wing and cross with his right foot so many times, electing to cut inside and do fuck all. Yet the goal came from a right-footed cross. Is this guy that thick or what?

  10. c*** whinging about Rafa on total sport- Mackem accent like. :hmm:

    Saying?

said hes now had a handful of games and its about time he showed some results, nothing better than carver or McClaren yet.

Two fingered mutant, definitely a mackem then.

  11. To see it in another way, would England's chances at the tournament suffer if Rooney happened to be injured and stayed home? Wouldn't make a jot of a difference imho.

  12. Ron, bottom line is, would you start Rooney ahead of either Kane or Vardy the form they're in this season? Would you have him play in a more withdrawn role? You don't really need to keep banging the Rooney drum as his stats speak for themselves. The guy has been a top class performer (and most years world class) for the entirety of his career. Starting the Euros at the expense of England's best two strikers this season would be a travesty though and an incompetent decision of the highest magnitude.
