  1. Linked with another young Tenerife striker called Nano that was their leading scorer last season.

VI have you seen much of this kid? Please enlighten us.

Trying to think of some nano football related puns but I'm struggling. Anyone?

If he comes in i'd still have Ayoze starting up front for us first and Nano second.

  2. I don't really consider the fixtures important information until about a fortnight before the game.

Matters more for people that actually go to games. Especially away games.

Sad to see two palace fans at it like this.

  3. Are the Cypriot fans batshit mental like the Greeks and the Turks?

I've been trying to post a video (legal) on here but have no clue how to embed. So fuck it. In short, yes they're inclined to be batshit mental.

  4. Why doesn't Vardy fit Arsenal's style? I'd imagine Ozil et al. would love threading balls through to him. His pressing would be invaluable to that team too. Think it would be a great fit.

The diving and swanning around might be a good fit for Arsenal, but he can only ever run in straight lines and shoot, and Arsenal aren't exactly the most direct team.

  5. Surprised at how many Omonia/NUFC fans there are [emoji38]

I assumed they were the same person

Yup. GreenToon is the same guy myself and abertoon know who supports both clubs. Think he's the only one in existence tbh.

  6. Guys I don't post on the forum but I read it everyday, think I was saving it for a special time.. I think that time has come to get more active.

I am bloody devastated to have woken up today and opened my application of my local team to see that our head coach is John Carver.

I thought I would never see him again in my life or be part of anything in my life, yet he is going to be within meters from me :(

Thank you for all the sympathy in advance  :whatdidido:

 Welcome to the board mate. Finally.

  7. Apparently this piece of work has been appointed manager of Omonia Nicosia FC here in Cyprus. A mate of mine who supports NUFC is also die-hard Omonia. He's fucking gutted

  8. A one year deal wasn't the worst idea in the world, he'd have still done a job in the Championship.

    Good news overall though.

Would've played about 5 games. Fuck that. Rather have someone with the same ability (which isn't hard to find) who will play more games. As you say though, it's fantastic news.

  9. Look at Germany and Low, we totally f***ed up.

What England need is a relatively obscure but highly rated young coach from deep within the football education system to take over managing the first team. Wasting some of the English talent of the past 15 or 20 years has been a footballing crime. The whole thing needs a major overhaul.

  10. Roy man, lets take our best players and move literally all of them out of position. So youre just playing names ignoring the fact they didnt make their names playing there.

I'm fairly shocked he's done that. Or not.

I thought maybe he would go for a functioning team that will set out to win the tournament. England certainly have the players, and are capable of winning it. Of course, they'll come nowhere near winning it because Hodgson is more interested in what the folks back home will say about him than how the team actually performs.

  11. I would have taken Carroll ahead of Rashford and Sturridge as well btw. Been in good form for West Ham since returning from injury, and when he's on his game, he's a nightmare for defenders.

Why should England actually have real options to influence games, to try and win the tournament? Surely it's better to placate the pundits and media in order to avoid criticism for leaving out the household names. I honestly had hope for Hodgson. Hope he does well but with that selection he's looking at an early exit imo. Possibly even in the group stage.

Which household names do you think he should've left out?

Sturridge, Henderson and Wilshere IMO. Milner at a push, but I'd take him ahead of Drinkwater as I reckon the Leicester guys are absolutely shattered. I personally wouldn't rely too heavily on Rooney, but I would concede that Hodgson can't leave him out of the squad completely.

I would probably start him alongside-ish Kane, and leave Vardy on the bench. Vardy playing on the left of 4231 is just moronic, and encapsulates everything that is wrong with Team England. Shoe-horning en vogue players for the fuck of it.

  12. I would have taken Carroll ahead of Rashford and Sturridge as well btw. Been in good form for West Ham since returning from injury, and when he's on his game, he's a nightmare for defenders.

  13. should be of highest priority to get rid

He's definitely offski IMO. Haven't heard a peep out of him since Rafa joined. If he had any future at the club, he would have been forced or pushed by the manager to communicate with the fans somehow. As good as gone IMO.
