  1. Thinking about how utterly farcical everything at NUFC seems to be, Alan Shearer's "let's move on, come on" comment at the end of his MOTD analysis sums it up perfectly. So fucking embarrassing.

  2. I had surgery on Tuesday and was sat in the pub watching this today with my Liverpool supporter mates. Nearly ripped my stitches open when Firmino scored. Pardew walking off heart-broken has made my week.

  3. Shocking execution of a perfectly good one on one situation when through on goal, and shocking support for Wijnaldum in that second half counter attack. And that "cross" in the first half :anguish:

  4. Despite all the overall shitness and negativity surrounding NUFC at this time, I can't help but start to like this dude. Seems a real leader out on the pitch, and is starting to make his presence felt at the back.

  5. If anything, Cisse's all round play had been better recently before his injury. Showed some decent link-up and hold-up play. Not sure how he would work with Mitrovic, as I get the feeling they'd both be making similar runs and occupying the same spaces. If we can get those two to complement each other, we'd stay up quite easily IMO.

  6. Problem is we needed to sign some protection for the back 4 first of all. Tiote and Shelvey barely offer more than Anita and Colback for that.

Tiote, Saivet & Shelvey as a midfield 3 might work in away games? Mitrovic, Perez, Doumbia/Sissoko/Townsend up top.

This. An orthodox 433 seems like the way to go away from home. Beef up the middle of the park, and have Sissoko and Townsend help out the fullbacks when needed. Shelvey can play a bit more advanced with 2 sitting behind him. It's only slightly different to what we're currently doing with Wijnaldum in the hole supporting Mitrovic, but at least Shelvey can spot the killer pass whereas Wijnaldum doesn't seem to create much from those areas.

We don't really need proper width since we can't cross for shit.

  7. We are too naiive away from home. Trying to pass it too much playing high line. Again, very self-destructive with Willian, Pedro and Costa running behind. Just stick 2 banks of 4 and keep it tight, frustrate the opposition. Now when we lose the ball we are so open its ridicilous.

This does my head in a lot more than our shit defending. We all know our defenders aren't very good, and i'm sure the midfielders and forwards know that too. So to continuously lose the ball unnecessarily in midfield is extremely irritating, and in matches like last night, is what leads to us crumbling rather than the bad defending itself.

  8. Personally I would have hooked him at HT, put Colback LB, and pushed Aarons to play on the left with Townsend switching to the right. He really can't keep getting away with miserable performances. He's the only player we have who is almost certain to be at the Euros this summer, and he simply HAS to feel that his place in that french squad is under threat, otherwise he'll just not perform. Awful attitude.

  9. On this evidence it's quite conclusive that it isn't the formation or line-up at away games that's the problem, but the mentality and possibly the match preparation. Once the match has started, he clearly has no idea how to change it. A top manager would have spotted the amount of space the likes of Willian and Fabregas were getting in the middle and countered it immediately after going 2 goals behind in such a short space of time.

  10. I didnt get the Doumbia thing. If you're gonna make that sub, why do it halfway through the half? I mean make your mind up. You either go defensive with Colback & Lascelles, or have a go with Doumbia. 4-0 was the turning point for him to try a striker? Makes no sense.

It was clearly just to give him a run out and avoid any risks to Mitro's knee.

  11. Switched off after their 5th so haven't seen his goal but I thought he was our best player

If you were to imagine a goal by him, that was it. Pretty good in fairness.

 That's a very accurate description.
