  1. I believe the crest is sewn on to a white patch, which is then sewn on to the shirt. Gets my vote. Mucho gracias, SEMTEX.
  2. It's absolutely mental. Best atmosphere I have ever experienced. Way better than River was IMO. Funiest thing of the games i went to was the Bolivia fans calling for the manager to be sacked when they were beating Brasil like. Sounds great, man! When did you go, like? Who were they playing actually? The tour guide was saying that everyone stands and really gets behind the team. Boca really did poor last season, though! Isn't their Ultras group called La Boca 12? Was there November, they beat Gimnasia La Plata 4-0, was a pretty good game. Was only 5 quid to stand behind the goal. Yeah the fans and especially La 12 are amazing. The number of songs they had was unreal and it was constant singing from about an hour before the game until it finished. The only bad thing about going to the River and Boca games was that you get kept behind until they've cleared the away fans from the stadium which is a bit of a ballache. Would love to go back to BA to see some of the other teams like San Lorenzo or Huracan or whoever and be able to go to the Superclasico sometime bet that would be amazing. Aye man, the passion that they have for football over there is just unbelievable. Its such a great experience, such a different game/culture towards it altogether in Argentina. Ye it'd be good to supplement other clubs like Racing or Velez Sarsfield. Actually, Racing Vs Independiente would be pretty awesome; it looks bloody mad by the looks of it when Danny Dyer goes there on The Real Football Factories! I didn't get to see an actually game in BA but got to watch Argentinas game Vs Greece on a big screen in San Martin park. When they scored it was just mental, like. Everyone just went feckin bonkers....and they had already qualified from the group! Just so passionate. Where you over there on your hols, Disco?
  3. On the blue away shirt is the badge ironed on or sewn? This could have quite an impact to whether I purchase...

  5. Living in Ireland I have a season ticket for Shamrock Rovers- €90, which I see as pretty good value tbh. Its decent enough football and your able to stand and sing no bother for the whole 90mins. Altogether its a pretty good experience and if anyone comes over to Dublin for a weekend or holiday I'd advise you to take in a game (go to the East Stand! )....especially if its a European game or a league game against St.Pats or the big derby against Bohs. The atmosphere is generally quality at those games. Otherwise, I've been to watch Barca Vs Real Vallidolid in the Nou Camp. It really was a terrific experience, tbh! Barca won 3 or 4-1 in the end; I remember Bojan and Zambrotta were very good whilst Iniesta and Henry were just a different class to anyone else on the pitch. It was terrific. This summer I visited La Bombonera- stadium of Boca Juniors- this summer and found it to be a fascinating experience, I really loved it. Unfortuantely I didn't get to take in a game but I plan to re-visit one day and take in a match. Looks mad, like. But I've never supplemented a game otherwise on the continent or anywhere else for that matter. If I were to go to Lisbon I'd like to see Sporting play over Benfica, but I'd say either would be great!
  6. Aye, because signings like Xisco and Luque are exactly what we need to get this party started Where's our best player from? He's English, but he plays for Ireland....
  7. Smith being labled as a defensive midfielder really is ridiculous isn't it? He does nothing of the sort, doesn't tackle effectively, doesn't screen the back four, doesn't pass well. He does sod all that a holding midfield player should do. Useless w*****. He's absolute w*** as a DM. All he does is sit in front of the back four and throws himself recklessly into challenges and gives away stupid free kicks in dangerous positions. f***ing hate Smith tbh. I do hope that this is the case, because if I find out you're lying, there'll be hell to pay...believe me.

    The Two Escobars

    What exactly is it about?

    No football player is, mate.
  10. One in three last season, nice for a winger. A winger? I thought he was a striker, no?
  11. I don't see why any fuss is being made about Djalo, tbh. I was looking at his record and its something like 70 games played and 17 scored. And that's in the Portuguese league, like.

Hopefully we have another CM in by Aug 16. But I wont hold my breath...

Himself, Nolan and Harper are Hughtons 'blue chip' boys. They'll be 'pinnacle' to our chances...

We saw in that game against Plymouth Barton demonstrate a glimpse of his natural creativity with a sublime through ball for Routledge to run onto and score. So imo, he does have a good football brain and pre-Newcastle era he was known for having a good engine on him as well. But as Disco's said, whether he still has that post injuries etc we'll have to wait and see. But we're really chancing our arm if we want to rely on Barton to carry us through the season because he more than likely wont- due to injury and/or discipline reasons. However, I do believe that if he gets a run of games together he will be much more of a benefit to us in terms of just keeping the ball. Like Guthrie, he has some ability and sense to use the ball constructively. In Smith we have a 'tough(reckless) tackling' DM who will ultimately become a liability for us throughout the season with his rash challenges etc. Then we have Nolan, who quite frankly is the laziest CM I've seen in a long, long time. I think that he's starting to establish himself as more of an AM/in the hole player, thankfully. Imo, if he plays it should be behind one of the strikers, not in the middle of the park as we will get completely overran. Then Barton's a box-to-box midfielder while Guthrie would be more of a 'supporting' midfielder- looking for the ball, spraying it out etc. What Gosling will offer I don't know, but it's got to be something good in the defensive department, imo.
  15. Are there any other small pockets within the ground that sing/stand?
  16. Fuck sake. Such greedy bastards, that means I'll have to shell out £20 extra on top of my ticket to go there for the one game I'm coming over for! Sake... Don't think its anything to do with safety, just money- the usual.

My exact thoughts. I pray we get another one in. We ideally need a DM and a creative AM going through the middle, but on top of a LB and CF? Could be asking quite a bit too much.
