    James Perch

Its great to see we're being pro-active and actually making signings early/before most teams- something we've rarely done in the past. Plus, Perch is a versatile player, which is something of value to a thin squad. Tbh though fellas, I wouldn't pay much attention to those Forest fans. They are some of the most bitter cunts I have ever come across as fans and seem to have a serious chip on the old shoulder when it comes to NUFC; the majority of them despise us so its no wonder their trying to play down Perch's ability. I admit, I haven't seen much of Perch but he seemed alright whenever I did and had a very solid game against us. But I'll give him a fair chance to prove himself. Besides, he cant be any worse than Andy fucking O'Brien or JLS!
  2. Thats basically my opinion. Anything more than 17th and avoiding defeat against the mackems will be a success in my eyes next season. Here here! Exactly what i thought to myself today.
  3. Quite disappointed we didn't sign Petrov tbh. He's had his injury problems but a canny player who's got serious pace to burn- something we lack. I feel he'd be a great option to have and if Routledge or Jonas we're to be injured Petrov could cover them well. Plus, he'd be a good impact player, something else we lack. On a free there's no harm in it.
  4. I am excited about the new season, aye- it's Newcastle, I love supporting them. But I'm not looking forward to the many Monday mornings in a bad mood because of them....
  5. loving the HUGE white patch on the back like I know, it's completely white this time...not a trace of any stripes. Just ridiculous.
  6. Aye, I'll be paying Toffs a visit before the season starts...
  7. This is probably my favourite tune for a football chant, would love to see it used for us (didn't someone on here make up very good lyrics for it, too?)!
  8. Praise the lord. I'd rather play Tozer than that big nosed goon...
  9. Seriously not impressed with any of our training gear. Looks absolutely gash.
  10. Cant see France getting through...
  11. The World Cup build up has kicked in and hence detracted from my building insanity over this new strip. Thankfully.
  12. Who does everyone think will qualify from Group A and Group E? I think they're both the most unpredictable groups....
  13. That to me doesn't sound like NUFC made a confirmation. The above reads more like the Sunday Sun taking NUFC contacting newspapers to deny numerous transfer stories as proof that “no capital outlay” does mean no cash signings. You really have to question the credibility of that article. - Why is this only a 'btw' thing at the bottom of the article- surely it would be ahead of Steve Bruce's horny agent? and - Didn't the club say that they would not be making any further comment on it? Being stubborn cunts is one thing you can certainly guarantee from this board...
  14. There's normally a surprise package down at the bottom scraping it out till late on- Bolton was a slight surprise staying down there so long, as were West Ham. We're pretty much banking on Blackpool (and probably Albion) being out of their depth and maybe one other shithouse such as Wigan or Wolves being dragged down as well to keep us up.
  15. Toffs will be in the money by the looks...

  17. How do you mean? They have a massive squad with massive wage bill? Not sure I'm picking you up right, because I don't see the parallel? I wouldn't call their squad 'massive' as such. They invested little money in their playing squad and had to sell to buy- and look where they ended up. Scraped survival by the skin of their teeth. We also have a huge wage bill, just a smaller squad. They had injuries and suspensions to key players and their squad couldn't cope.
  18. Even with one or two additions to this squad we are majorly lacking strength in (any sort of) depth. A couple of injuries and suspensions in one and we're in big, big trouble. We need to get at least 3-4 players in and then I'll be able to breath easier. I have confidence in Hughton, just not the fucking board room.
  19. Not really. ANY team that is promoted (to any league, but especially the Sky League) must strengthen their squad with quality and depth. We currently have a small amount of quality within our squad to compete in this league but little or no depth. Imo, any set of fans of a newly promoted team that is told they will get no investment would go nuts. We're no different. We absolutely must get reasonable investment in the team to have a chance of staying up. We're going to end up in a West Ham-like situation if we're not careful (or worse!).
  20. Well judging by the last 5 attempts or so we've had down at their place its not looking good....
  21. this may be naive but to my thinking the major obstacle to him calling the debt in is that the money isn't there to pay him. That's what I was thinking. He could either wait till we have the money for one big lump payment, or, gradually refund himself by taking money out of the club coffers as we get money in.
  22. So basically, you have no idea either
  23. We don't have too far to go to have a decent side (on paper, in all departments). Unlike all the previous sides promoted (that went down), we have much more class than all of them in our team. If you look at teams like Burnley, Derby or Hull, we have much more quality than themselves. Because of this, a few well chosen additions could go a long way for us in terms of staying up and competing. In saying this, it's important that we do have the balls for the fight- look at last season, we were feeble...pathetic- and are well organised as that will go along way to helping us.
  24. Where can you look at them?
