Simpson is a decent squad player. We should keep him if he can understand that we can not pay backup players top dollars. Its not his fault our board have not upgraded him earlier. Gets much stick from the fans, me included. But in the end, he is not better, but the still the best we got It gets a little OTT the criticism he gets at times tbh. http://i.imgur.com/g3jOJ.gif

We finished 5th last season and with that we brought in finances which should have but weren't used to either stabilise the club or take it forward. I doubt anybody thinks Ashley is " trying to f*** up the club's chances of being successful." Having said that what he tries to do and what he actually does is two different things and like it or not, he's played his part in taking us backwards this season. What do you class as being "quite successful"? Why does it concern you if the club is more valuable for him to sell or not? I don't care how valuable the club is per se, but he certainly does, and the more successful it is the more valuable it gets. What I mean is, he has plenty of motivation for trying to be as successful as possible within the club's means. To think he'd settle for being a mid-table team if he thought for one second he could get us higher than that would be totally against his interests. "Quite successful" for us, I think, would be to put together over the next few years a side that consistently gets into Europe and is capable of playing in the Champions League. And thanks to Graham Carr and a string of fantastic transfer coups, I don't think we're a million miles off even now. I agree Ashley must take some responsibility for the transfer window not going very well. But that's all it was - one transfer window. Agree with much of what you say, but we have had some obvious needs long before the summer window. RB /CB being two tbh

Arsenal 7 - 3 Newcastle United - 29/12/12 - post-match reaction from page 55
High Five o replied to Dave's topic in Football
I have seen at least some guts to go for it now, after the loss for Southampton/Wham/Swansea i was just lost, angry and frustrated. Now we try at least. -
Sometimes i think about this, the owner "we" defend. I could go on about as much as i hate him, but we are in a position that we are owned by him, and there is little or nothing to do about it. Remember when he bought us, i was fucking naive, thought we have won the lottery ffs. I have defended him, and criticized him, but it all ends up in the same, he is here, Some try to be positive, some negative.

Yep...another on-the-nose post...quite right. Jupp, we should leave SJP empty! That would show the players right! FFS, do you think they think its fun to be beat 7-3? If there are anything that can help is if the fans appreciate that we had a go at manu and Arsenal. Did anyone expect points against them? As long as we have this owner we can only do as well tbh, and backing the players is at least what we can do, right?

This - nail on head. Whilst other posts have been good and very detailed, this one goes right to the heart of the problem.. Also, I disagree that its impossible to go down...any team that concedes 4 goals after pulling back deficits 3 times has EVERY chance of going down if the squad is not strengthened adequately. We are a total shambles of a club right now and the sooner everyone realizes this the better. Agree with Skelotors post, but we are not shambles. If we go on like this, we will beat the weaker sides. If Pardew goes back to 442 hoof we are in trouble imo.
