Wha? The entire frontline was youngsters apart from Rooney, and with Henderson in midfield. That's like half the team, not too bad. I wouldn't really consider Sturridge, Welbeck and Henderson to be "youngsters" mind. The underlying caveat being only one of them is good enough at this level.

Uruguay have a truly world-class talent. We don't. That was the difference. However behind that it was the same old England. You'd have thought given everyone has seen Suarez play loads over the last 2-3 years in England, we'd be a bit more aware of him. Yet we seemed baffled by his alert, predatory running. Defence was too slow to react to it and at this level - well, Suarez's level anyway - that's not good enough. Midfield was sluggish, lack of movement.... it's just the usual story. Got to go fully with the younger players for Euro 2016 qualifying. Barkley, Lallana, Sterling, Wilshere, Sturridge. Get them all playing together.

I think getting Wilshere sorted is key for us. Mainly due to injuries, he hasn't progressed in the last couple of years but he clearly has a lot of talent and I think, if fit, could be pivotal for England for the next 5-10 years. Certainly an improvement on Henderson who does next to fuck all, while Gerrard has again demonstrated his best times are long behind him. Welbeck, man. Just why?

If you can't judge a team on a tournament we've been preparing for for years, then when can you judge them? It's not hyperbole or knee-jerking to make a judgement on the significant evidence we have. You're allowed to make a bold judgement/decision/comment and it not be an over-reaction.

  7. Greece. Such a non-entity. Yet still in with a chance of going through. Japan weren't much better.

Neither goal was "on a plate" in the slightest, the first in particular.
  9. They seem to exist purely as a roadblock for other teams.
  10. Was Kagawa carrying a knock or something? What rational reason was there, otherwise, for him not starting?
  11. This ref. He is literally giving every single decision to Greece since the red card.
  12. The ref can stop giving Greece every decision. Japan are showing approximately zero skill in taking advantage of the 10 men.
  13. Aren't Japan supposed to be... like.... alright?
  14. I should be happy about winning my main bet but apparently I'm more annoyed about not winning that £2 bet. Fucking morons, man. 25/1 was way too long like, even for a omni-shambles like Cameroon.
  15. Absolute turboshite like that is what gives African football a bad name, and will continue to enforce stereotypes. Truly embarrassing performance.
  16. Seriously, how is it possible to be that bad?
  17. Just sorta shrugged my shoulders. Not complaining at all, it was one of those bets which was so obvious and I was very confident of winning. Cameroon are fucking rank, there's still another goal or 2 here for Croatia if they're bothered. Then again Cameroon to score next is 25/1. Daft £2 on that.
  18. Well that was far too fucking easy.
