I agree I just thought England's central midfield was poor. It was horrendous, and Henderson was poor, no doubt. But heaping criticism on him in particular would be an atrocious move from the media.

I'm not sure what's more ridiculous - the fact he thinks we should just keep the 'experienced' players, or the fact he didn't name Barry as one of the ones people want out.

At least he is looking to be patient and play it short in the rare instances he has been involved. However he is getting no help whatsoever from the two supposedly senior players alongside him. Actually feel bad for him in a way. Does look slightly out of his depth but I do empathise. I think he can develop into a very good player but he needs to first and foremost find his actual role. CM, DM, RM? He could do with leaving Sunderland if he is to develop, though. Aye, he should sign for Chelsea or Man City where he can rot in the reserves and ruin his career. Got to wonder if he has the ability to hug the touch line/whip a decent ball in. No worse than Osman I suppose. Wouldn't see him as a touchline-hugger. He'd probably drift inside for Seamus to exploit the space. Anyway, I wouldn't say I'd go all out for him or anything, but if he did come then I'd be happy with it, at a reasonable price.
