  1. I think it was part of the tactics tbh. Sit back and hit them on the counter, but we've been playing without an outball all half, Gordon and Isak have been woeful.
  2. Probably because PIF have ambition and have invested hundreds of millions into the club, putting an executive structure in place to move the club forward. Ashley didn't
  3. I wonder if he's here to ask some tough questions...
  4. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt given he's only been here five minutes, but it's not an ideal start.
  5. It's Eales' job as CEO to set the direction and strategy of the club fwiw. He's answerable to PIF. I think as long as the club continues to grow in value at a decent rate, he'll get by. Until I read the recent Athletic article, I hadn't realised he was as involved in the transfer market as much as he was. I'd hope that the responsibility will be fully delegated to Mitchell moving forward. The chaotic and reactive nature of the last few days indicates they're still working through the lines of power after the summer upheaval.

  7. Unless they (wrongly) assumed they'd have no bother shifting the likes of Miggy and Wilson, which has been touted since last December.
  8. The initial reporting was that it was enquiry that was shut down quickly. Then it was cash plus Almiron. Then it was £40 million plus Almiron. Now it's £50 million. I don't believe that they wouldn't have accepted that.
  9. Random, but I'd love to know who's briefing the press at our end and why. The PSR reporting was deliberate and all over the place. It's been a lot more consistent post-deadline day, but again doesn't tie in with earlier briefings.
  10. Not sure I believe that like, but given how chaotic we were on the last day, I wouldn't be surprised. Does whiff on the Forest owner using the opportunity to get credit in the bank with his own fans.
  11. Nah, thst won't go down as an assist. Created a big chance and missed a big chance, depending on how you want to frame it.
  12. INFORMATION: SÃO PAULO is negotiating with Jamal Lewis, 26-year-old Newcastle full-back! The player is expected to arrive in Brazil tomorrow to finalize negotiations!
  13. Self fulfilling prophecy innit. If you're negative about everything, then something finally turns out to be disappointing or poor, it's the vindication to carry on.
  14. Without reading it, I'm guessing the Hope article is similar to the Athletic's, buy dramatised by the usual tabloid bells and whistles?
  15. I'm hoping we go a bit more direct for this one, similar to last season. Even without Solanke, they have lot of quality up to and we can't be playing risky passes in our own half. They'll try and overload our defensive third which should leave plenty of space in behind for Isak and Gordon. 2-2.

    Marc Guehi

So the list was Tosin, Guehi, Tapsoba and Thiaw.
  17. While I completely understand disappointment with the transfer window, surely now is the time to get behind the lads, particularly after Howe's comments yesterday. After all isn't that the whole idea of attending? It's Sunday 2PM, so it'll probably be subdued regardless.
  18. Again, poor window and a blip for incoming recruitment, which has largely been very good. All we can ask if that lessons are taken on board and it isn't repeated. I find the catastrophizing a bit over the top though. We're still an attractive, ambitious project and all of our best players aren't suddenly going to leave. Yes, I think we could be vulnerable to selling one of them next summer, but I'd have thought that regardless. We're still more than capable of top six and an enjoyable season. Granted we're now vulnerable to injury than we needed to be.
  19. Didn't Ornstein pretty much debunk the Gordon stuff? He said Liverpool made an "arms length enquiry" that was rejected
  20. Got a whole season to enjoy first, but next summer feels like crunch time. Loads of players our of contract. Obviously some will be offered a new deal, but we may need cash in the bank or a sizeable sale to restock the squad.
