As if no one saw this coming. The writing has been on the wall since January.

Gah Liverpool, f*** off. Think we'll replace him mind, whether it's before Arsenal is a different matter.

Ten million is a decent price. I love Jose but his exit is inevitable.

How much will we spend this summer (should we stay up :))? NET

I went for 10-15 million for what it's worth. -

Aye, because we've never, ever signed a player with quality under Ashley. This transfer window has been a huge disappointment to say the least but some of the hyperbole following the Barton fallout has been absolutely laughable.
-
Like N'Zogbia? He'd be much cheaper than N'Zogbia, Leverkusen are only looking for around five million according to reports.
-
Barnetta would be textbook Ashley, in the last year of his contract and subsequently available for a knock down price.
-
It's true like. The whole training fiasco is an absolute joke though.
-
Why's that then?

Yet you've gladly sing Hughton's praises? Pardew is an absolute cretin but him and Hughton are both distinctly average mangers. Distinctly average? His acheievements suggested otherwise. I certainly rated him higher than average ability wise where as he was an outstanding decent human being too, the kind you always want associated with your club rather than cretins, f*** ups and absolute mugs like the likes of Pardew et al who infest every f***ing aspect of our once proud club. I cannot wait until the day the likes of Pardew are long gone from any chain of power at NUFC. The man doesn't deserve to be called manager of Newcastle United, a position not so long ago Sir Bobby proudly held. It's easier to sing Hughton's praises because he was top bloke, Pardew isn't. However when it comes down to result they did a very similar job in the top flight. Apart from Liverpool for obvious reasons, Pardew's failure to take three points off any team that wasn't still in danger on the last day should be a very loud alarm bell. Tactics are about getting more than the sum of the parts out of the team and Pardew has proven himself to be miserably bad at it. Results like going to Goodison and the Emirates and coming away with three points will never happen under this man. The less said about his impact on team spirit the better. He has absolutely decimated it. And Hughton's inability to get results at home?

We don't have a better first team. We'll see won't we. I think: Krul Simpson Coloccini Williamson New LB Gutierrez Cabaye Tiote Marveaux Ben Arfa Ba Is better than: Krul Simpson Coloccini Williamson Enrique Barton Nolan Tiote Gutierrez Ameobi Lovenkrands As if Marveaux will play more than 25 games. As if The new LB will be better than Jose. As if Ben Arfa will play more then 25 games. As if Ba will score more goals than Ameobi and Lovenkrands together. As if Gutierrez will be better than Barton on the wing. As if Nolan's goals won't be missed. This side is not better. Well, you don't really know that do you?

Could both end up being key players if we continue like that.

Buying players with questionable injury records gives us less chance of coping with injuries. We've only brought in one player with a questionable injury record. I do agree however that the squad is short. Ba and Marveaux both have big question marks hanging over them imo. Ba's appearance record isn't bad but clubs do medicals for a reason and it takes a fair old problem to fail one. And he's our only real striker, let's face it, an injury to him or simply not living up to expectations and we are really struggling. Ba's has a decent injury record. It's a risk over his knee, due to a botched operation clubs are worried if his knee does ever go, that could be it. Completely agree we're short on decent striking options though.
-
Agree with the bit in bold, even if it is somewhat a side issue.

Good Post. No doubt you'll be called an Ashley apologist by Dave etc though still. Of course Barton brought it on himself. And Enrique's trying to bring it on himself too....and Danny Simpson it's starting to seem. Harper's said nowt though...best keeper at the club, but he's been pushed into the reserves on Tuesday. No future as a strong presence in the changing room it seems. Smith's in the reserves too. Nolan said nowt publicly. Carroll said nowt publicly. You don't see players at.....say...Stoke City queueing up to get out do you? It's an exodus of our very best players. If enrique goes it's 4 of them in 6 months. Tiote and Coloccini are the only remnants of actual premier league quality left to us. I don't give a s*** aout any individual player that doesn't want to be at the club. But to point the finger at ALL these players rather than the man showing them the door is ridicuous. It's all resulted from the sale of Carroll and the lack of ambition we've shown during this subsequent summer. Jose and Barton were clearly unsettled from that point. Still doesn't excuse Barton's actions for me.
