The positive thing is we've been the better side by some distance and created lots of chances
The negative is we aren't winning and the longer the game goes on there's a good chance we lose it
-
Going to be a pivotal game, without Haaland and Foden I think City will drop points, if I had to call it now then I'd say they'll lose
Which would then make Arsenal heavy favourites for the league and also puts pressure on us to get a result tomorrow

Wasn't he given an extended contract not that long ago?
-
Not worried in the slightest by the accounts
The noon deal as well as other sponsors which we'll no doubt add will be in this year's account so we should see the revenue jump significantly (plus more money for higher league finish as well as being shown on TV all the time)
We have credible people employed that will know what they are doing

Apropos of nothing but noticed the other day Habib Beye is doing well as manager at Red Star Paris
Whilst we are on this, noticed the other day Argentina battered Curaçao 7-0 and in midfield for Curaçao was Vurnon Anita

My point is that the English midfield isn't really that strong. Behind Phillips and Rice Is an aging Henderson and a soon to be relegated Ward Prowse, there's very little.
Also, people forget that Gareth Southgate tried to convince McTominay to play for England.
I know that it's a cliche, but if McTominay were Brazilian and his name was McTominho, people's perception of him would probably be different.
I think your last point is bollocks because if we were linked to Fred, an actual Brazilian, you'll find the reaction would be the same if not worse

That footballers progress at different ages.
Eh? That's not the point you were making though
You suggested Arsenal being happy to sell him meant he wasn't all that but the examples I gave of Salah/KDB proves that means nothing really

Aren't they just a streaming service too though? The delay between Amazon and the live action is a massive hindrance for me.
Is this an issue because apps will update the score before it happens?
-
The competition law rules will need to change for Amazon/Apple etc to take them all (Premier League rights), they made it so that the packages had to be split and no one provider can have them all
All that ended up doing was increasing the costs to subscribers as you had to end up subscribing to two different providers

It’s next year for the Premier League.
All reports say it's later this year but regardless I don't see 3pm matches being included in the next cycle

The Premier League rights come up for auction next year. If the EFL sells the 3pm KO’s (they will), then the Premier League will follow up.
The current cycle of broadcast rights never even went to auction, they just extended the existing deal. I could see the Premier League scrambling to offer the existing broadcast holders all the games between them for the final year of the deal, similar to what they had to do a couple of years ago.
The Premier League rights auction is this year and I doubt very much all games will be on the table yet
The Premier League will wait to see what happens with the EFL and 3pm blackouts and then maybe follow suit

That's why Arsenal were happy to sell him?
Him and Longstaff will be long gone when Howe gets the green light to spend.
Chelsea were happy to sell Salah and KDB, what exactly does that prove?

Yes.
I don't get the snobbery.
We've seen from the previous two Scotland matches what he can do.
In that time, what have Willock and Longstaff done? McTominay has scored 4 goals in two games (2 goals against Spain) Willock and Longstaff have probably watched "Wednesday" on Netflix.
You talk about snobbery and then you talk utter nonsense about Willock and Longstaff
Willock is a better player than McTominay and is still getting better

What channel is it on? Went through the lot and could only find Turkey v Croatia on Viaplay. Random game on a channel I've never heard of
Viaplay is basically Premier Sports

"Build it and they will come"
The lack of self awareness is astonishing

With the Man Utd bid, there is only 2 bidders who want to buy the whole club. Everyone else is after smaller shares or offering finance.
Bith bidders will saddle the club up with more debt. Radcliffe has the money in assets only, so can’t buy it outright. The Qatari is a banker who no one believes he has that money himself, even if he did, he is a banker and he’ll know not to spend his own money.
It’s hardly far away from the media reports that say it’s not going well. The Glaziers were wanting every billionaire, every sovereign wealth fund, and everyone who could form a consortium to be bidding and that’s not what they have got.
I thought the Qatari bid was a debt free one?

I'd have no complaints if it went back to cup runners up getting a European spot, and not just because we would've all but secured our route already this season.
I can't explain why but it feels wrong that European spots can drop all the way to 7th in the League. Aren't top coefficient countries going to get a 5th CL spot in future? Is that an extra spot even if an English club wins the CL or EL, meaning we could end up with six clubs in the CL? We could be looking at 9th in the league getting a spot in Europe if everything aligned. Just seems ridiculous.
That's correct, so for the 2024-25 season the top 2 coefficient countries will get an extra spot, which basically means for next season finishing 5th gets you CL (Unless the winners of both CL/EL finish outside of 5th)
The 2 countries are likely to be England and Spain

Fred (who cost £50m) had on average of 61 touches/84% pass success rate per match last season. McTominay had 56 touches/86% pass success rate.
Hardly much of a difference.
As I said earlier, instead of using their own judgement and making up their own mind, people just come out with pop-culture references. It's easy. No thought involved.
Your comparison is a waste of time though since Fred is shite and I wouldn't want us to sign him either

This is true, however with the caveat that it's consistent CL qualification that really opens these streams up. Say we do make it this year, it will have been partly based on us being absolute boss radgies, but partly based on Chelsea, Liverpool, & to some extent Spurs being abnormally shit. Even with heavy Summer investment we'd likely start next season as outsiders for a top 4 finish. Still think we are a couple of Summer windows away from being a consistent top 4 side.
For next season it's about finishing top 5, so we only need to be better than 2 of the so called big 6

There's probably a good chance that Messi moves on

I remember him been decent for a season at least. Was it not in the geremi butt Barton partnership.
Can't remember exactly but sure it was after he came back from his season long loan at Birmingham (where ironically he fell out with Bruce after he picked his knacker of a son ahead of him)
That season he played well as I remember a lot of fans saying he turned things around after the first season or two where he was horrific
-
Could be my memory playing tricks on me but whilst it started badly for Butt I'm sure he had a season and half/or two where he was actually good for us
-
He was poor against Forest though still played a useful part in the equaliser
But for those with short memories it was only last week against Wolves when he had an excellent game

Let me guess, we got lucky because Man-U didn't turn up
I wonder at what point the penny will drop as to why the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Man-U don't seem to turn up against us, will they ever work out the common denominator?
