I'm extra fucking bitter about this now. At the time, given their and our form, and all the history, I was still a bit in the frame of mind of thinking ManU are a level above us and of course we fucking lost again. I'm back to think we could've fucking win this thing. Couldn't have come at a worse time.

I'm somewhat similar but also it's why I wanted to play them in the semi finals as I reckon we'd have battered them at home like we did and would have kept it close at Old Trafford

He does, but also, the commitment/desire that causes him to receive so many cards is also one of the reasons he's such an effective disruptor in this team. If he held himself back in the next few games to try not to get a yellow, perhaps he wouldn't be as prolific in what he does.

I might be completely making this up but it's been a long season, hasn't he picked up a few yellows for dissent though?

Whilst in previous seasons I liked it as he was showing some fight, it's something he needs to be careful with

Liverpool need to win all 9 games to have any chance of getting in the top 4. I don't even think they win on Monday.

Leeds are awful, Liverpool win that with ease

I think Liverpool easily get 20+ points from their remaining fixtures, they'll do similar to what they did a couple of years ago

We just need to make sure we win enough games

At first I agree and arguments can be had about whether Bruce was incompetent or he really did have to alter Rafa's set up.

Nope, there is no argument to be had, Bruce was shite

Only an absolute doylem would suggest otherwise

I mean, they likely have Real Madrid in the next round.

Wouldn't rule them out messing it up before then in spectacular fashion

As for Real I actually wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea get past them

Dunno if there's something wrong with me, but I think this has been really boring

I guess it's all subjective but this second half has been good, missed the first so can't compare it

    Fairly end to end

  7. I get people have opinions and all that but quite frankly any Newcastle fan that has any ill will or negative feelings towards Rafa is quite frankly a doylem

What he's done since in terms of jobs is irrelevant, he can get another 5 jobs and do shite in all of them and I would still adore the guy as it doesn't change what he did for us

I could write paragraph after paragraph but to keep it short I would describe his time here as he was sent to a sword fight but only given a toothpick

Look at the money he spent for the time he was here. It was a decent amount and he could've done much better if he used players better and bought better.

Let's look at his final season with us and see what players he had at his disposal.

We had some decent players at the time which weren't properly used in my opinion.

He had a net spend of minus £11m you absolute weapon

We all have our opinions and I respect yours but I simply did not enjoy his time at Newcastle and I was genuinely happy to see him leave.

I'm not too sure about what you mean in him contacting Staveley.

Did that happiness increase or decrease once Steve Bruce was appointed?

Haven't they only won like 6 or 7 at home all season?

Shows how mediocre the league is this season. If they did go up, which is very hard to see happening, surely they'd be better off going straight back down and getting the parachute payment to build on. They certainly don't have the money to do what Forest are gambling on.

No side is ever better off going straight back down, that's just an absurd suggestion

However if they get promoted they will have a decision to make, spend within their means so if they did get relegated it's not damaging or do a version of Forest, spend big but it's risky and going down could then be damaging

My bad but if Blackburn win their game in hand then their 7 behind 5th so that’s gone which just leaves 6th. You have a milwall on 62, Preston on 62, Norwich on 61 and Coventry on 59 (should have been 61 as they were robbed of a penalty today). That’s a lot of teams to overtake with only 15 points to play for.

    This is true

They have Preston last game of the season, that could be significant
