  1. Come on, we didn't just do that. We did go direct at times but that's just nonsense. There was an awful lot more than I'd like to be fucking seeing. Because if we rely so much on that as a tactic, we're relying on playing with Andy Carroll. We dont have another player that can fill that roll. That's what I'm most concerned about. Not really an inspiring thought going forward. Maybe it's the first game and that's what we had ready. Maybe we're working on more and there's different things to come. But if he's going with this tactic all season, it's a little worrying. We had some good performances from players and it was good to see effort and some quality from individuals. But the setup is at best average. There's so much more that could be done with those players. I get your point, if we try this without our injury prone big forward it won't work. Not trying to give Bruce any kind of tactical acumen, but maybe we set up this way as we were away, and it was West Ham, we might set different against others...time will tell i guess. Yeah maybe. And if so that's good. My opinion on this game would stay the same. I get why Fraser is unlikely to be fit. Almiron looked fit though and crow-barring 3 CMs in to a midfield 4 might work away to West Ham in the first game but you'll get what's coming to you. We didnt need plan B tonight. I'm just sceptical that we have one.

  3. Yay. We won. We played 442 and pumped it long to a big number 9 for 80 minutes, but, yay. Cant wait for more.
  4. Urgh. This is just going to to cement his ideas in his mind now.
  5. I was ready to be fucking furious that he was going to replace Carroll with Joelinton and pump it long to him. This is worse.
  6. That would need a change in system. Think you're asking a but too much of Steve.
  7. Leave Joelinton alone man Think he'd look alright partnering Wilson eventually in this setup. Then he can drop in as much as he likes and set Wilson up. Be interesting to see how we could work Joelinton in playing in his preferred position a bit deeper. I'd like to see it tried at least. However I imagine he'll only ever be used a la Carroll and continue to be expected to be a target man. Bruce has no imagination.
  8. Carroll's a fucking liability. What on earth is he doing on the pitch, man. Fucks sake.
  9. FFS. Toook him out but he is too expensive and I put in Leno, M-N and Auba. 19 from them so far which is decent. Think Arsenal defence will do well this year as Arteta will have the midfield protecting them more a la Pep and there are some bargains. Holding and Saliba at 4.5m. I imagine Holding will play initially and be replaced by Saliba eventually.
  10. Doubt he'll start first game. But I agree he'll come in. Gone with Zouma anyway.
  11. There's a few incessant newish posters in this thread that have turned it in to an absolute fucking abortion. This happens about every 3 months though Doubtless some of them are the old posters with new usernames, and then additional ones are somehow drawn in like tongues to a window. Aye, probably. Wish they'd go outside for a walk or something.

  13. Who's likely to start at CB for Chelsea you reckon? Rudiger and Zouma?
  14. I dont see how it makes any sense for NUFC to release a statement saying the bid had been rejected if indeed Stavely and PIF had not been back in. Surely that would infuriate them? It's also alluding to the fact the the PL have said PIF and KSA are not sufficiently independent which is why the PL rejected it. Again, a fucking ridiculous political move by NUFC if the second attempt and whatever kind of rejection wasn;t true. None of this makes any sense. Someone's lying and whoever it is is going to look fucking horrific. Odds on it's us.
