My point is that if you put Chelsea fans, or Man U fans, or whoever in that situation that something similar could have happened. Just as if you’d put Chelsea fans, or Man U fans, or whoever in that end at Hillsborough.

…although Alisson being out actually works.

Calvert-Lewin FFS.

This. And it’s very important to remember that it could have been any one of our teams in that position too. Most people who regularly went to away games at that time will have a story to tell about a day when it could have been them. We were all treated like shit on the regular by the authorities and some of the media, and herded like cattle into pens. It was going to happen to somebody sooner or later. It really wasn’t because it was Liverpool. Just like Heysel could have been us, or Chelsea, or Man U.

Goes back to what I’ve said in the past. If you only knew the best player each week (and so could always pick the best captain) I think you’d be nigh on unbeatable.
-
Leaving aside the ideal that a club are their fans, that would make you a big fan of Sullivan and Gold? Or teams getting free stadia? To be fair, I’m supposed to hate them.

Lots of positives in the last 14 years?

Going to be an interesting couple of weeks.

I mean. It bloody well should do considering how much it cost: https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/mikel-arteta-willian-edu-arsenal-21496369.amp

As we have seen for month after month now, the biggest threat the unvaccinated pose to the rest of us is not that they are more likely to transmit the virus - although they are - but that they will take up more healthcare resources. Most concerningly, ICU beds. And please, please, for the love of God, stop asking “is everybody happy” with this. Nobody’s fucking happy with any of this. It’s a pandemic. We just want to find the best way out.
-
You are wrong. People who claim vaccination stops you getting and spreading COVID are also wrong. That’s not what most people here are saying though, which is precisely why Wullie brought up seatbelts. It’s not about absolutes, it’s almost never about absolutes, that’s not how any of this works. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(21)00690-3/fulltext As you suggest, it reduces the severity of symptoms and thus reduces the chances of hospitalizations. But it also increases the rate at which viral density decreases in a patient, although the article suggests that the peak viral load is the same in both unvaxxed and vaxxed. Take all those people at V.D.’s party. They all caught the virus and so presumably had similar viral loads. The vaxxed ones will have seen that density decrease faster, and so given that a higher density means more infectiousness they are less likely to transmit the virus when they go back to their privileged media luvvie lives.

Football is so shit

Says so much that even with this wack-ass team Spurs would be fourth if they won the postponed game at Burnley. The top three are so much better than everyone else.
-
It was always strange that Everton fans were so persistently whiney at games though. They just were.
-
Just play someone injured every week. Problem solved.
-
If you knew the top scorer each week beforehand (ie. could always pick the perfect captain), how high do you think you’d finish? Feels like however shite your team performs, as long as you pick the right captain you’re golden.
-
He’s got guts though.
-
Oh right. For some reason thought it was 1130.

Site been updating for a while?
-
Full of cunts, for some reason.
-
just tried it for next week - looks like you can.
-
Well then it’s not a 10, surely?
-
‘Twas ever thus, tbh.

can’t decide if I’m disappointed or not

There are no guarantees, but you don’t just have money, you have a shit-load of money. I buy it. We’ve already seen Man City keep on throwing money at the wall until eventually it sticks. I’m more confident in you coming straight back up than in you getting relegated in the first place, although you’re going to have to do some serious business in Jan.
