  1. Without the knee issues I genuinely think he might have been one of the best centre-backs we have ever seen. I still rate him above Sol Campbell. I agree that there is a tendency to rate Ledley higher than his performances merited because people make allowances for his injuries, but he was still routinely brilliant.
  2. Not yet IMO Been in the Premier League a bit longer than Ronaldo, although played marginally fewer games.

    In memoriam

Always had a soft spot for Saint and Greavsie, primarily because my Dad idolized Greaves as a kid.
  4. Yep close this down until August. Close this down until the next loss tbh when the other half are on here giving 10s. I presume it’s different people, can probably go back and see if there’s any intersection .

  6. Dunno man, if you're saying Lewis is in the combined team that sounds a bit spurious .
  7. I’d argue that it is different, but I’ve had that discussion a million times in my lifetime and it’s just not worth the effort any more.

    Jeff Hendrick

    Because ultimately he chokes?
  9. All this said, and I know you’re shite and devoid of confidence, but I reckon the Blades and West Brom are done. That means it’s probably you, Fulham, Burnley and Brighton fighting over one place. You’re still 7pts ahead of Fulham, and if they lose their next two (Brighton and West Brom, both away) then they might just be fucked.
  10. Just as easy as that isn't it. We paid similar for Bruno to what you paid for Joelinton. Little bit more to it than the cost of the team surely? Yeah, the wages.
  11. Really interested in having it fail, obviously.
  12. They were in the relegation spots for basically the entire season - highest position was 16th after wk3. Rock bottom for more than two-thirds of the season, including the last fifteen weeks. It’s really not the same.
  13. I dunno, that run-in is about as good as it could possibly be. I guess the big concern is that you'll be giving any points you drop straight to your competitors. Playing all the five teams below you in the last seven games (and four in the last five) is kinda nuts.
  14. This. Arsenal have been terrible. Perfect opportunity to turn their season around tonight though. Not sure about that, they’ve won four out of the last five. Beating Chelsea was arguably a turning point already. Arteta has done well against the top 6 sides generally (Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea). It's games against sides like Newcastle and Brighton where they fall short. They have far from turned the corner yet. I mean, I sort of agree, but you could maybe have chosen better illustrations because of course Newcastle and Brighton are two of the teams they just beat .

  16. He’ll deserve massive debit for all the other teams he’s put out though.
  17. A proper manager (No, they’re pretty full strength really) ta.
  18. I’ve only been half-watching but Chelsea look pretty poor. Is there anybody missing?

    Merry Christmas

Feel like he’s the anti-Lineker - dim and totally lacking in self-awareness.

    Merry Christmas

Merry Bloody Christmas everyone! Stay safe and well over the holidays and - most of all - be excellent to each other.
