I feel like that series is all you need to know about what lower league football used to be.

I still feel sad that the only thing many people remember about the mighty Leyton Orient is John fucking Sitton .
  3. It's insane to me that the stand at one end of the new stadium extends over the centre spot, as the Park Lane stand essentially starts in the same place as the new kop. Edit: fucking got the wrong end - I'm getting old.
  4. A jerry can and a box of matches, wasn't it?
  5. I tell you one thing, I'm bloody glad the seats are navy blue rather than white, they look mint.
  6. There was something of a battle over some of the buildings around WHL, but I believe the key ones were preserved. One advantage we had was that there was enough land around that could be easily...well...flattened and built on. Archway Sheet Metal were a pain in the arse, but it's ultimately easier to deal with one firm rather than the stuff other clubs would have to deal with, and the East side had local pitches rather than, say, listed housing. Has a serious attempt been made to design something that incorporates the Leazes Terrace? It always used to be that you couldn't build above a certain height IIRC. Weren't there tentative plans to build on the common land to the north of the city? I think it would be crucial to keep your ground as close to the city (and the current site) as possible. We were somewhat lucky that it was an option for us, although the transport infrastructure is concerning. Arsenal were extremely fortunate that there was relatively cheap land available nearby, and their transport links were already excellent. Well I say fortunate, the cunts moved from Woolwich by design, not luck. Have there been serious proposals for you rebuilding in place? It's actually really frustrating to be over here while this is happening. I know the area so well, and videos just don't give me a good enough feel for how the rebuild is affecting the surroundings.
  7. Bollocks, lost on a tie-breaker in the first round of the cup.
  8. When he’s good he’s very very good, but when he’s bad he’s horrid.
  9. Pretty pleased with 55 after my wildcard. Nearly everybody got 6 points, and Salah and Torreira are still to play. Bit miffed that I couldn’t squeeze Snodgrass in, but it turned out nice again.
  10. Amazed you’ve still got a wildcard, you get a new one in Jan. Yeah, it never seemed like the right time .
  11. Celtic too Or not Going to finish 2nd with a GD of -3 I think they'd be out on head-to-head.

"I can't bring myself to wish a Sunderland victory" FFS .
  13. Ah dammit, would have been amusing if this thread hadn't been updated all night.
  14. An awful lot of our own fans forgot that too in the furore over us not signing anybody this summer. I wish we'd made a couple of improvements, and we've not been great this year, but we're still pretty good.
  15. A B team that had two individual players in who each cost more than our entire starting line-up in transfer fees.
  16. No matter how bad British refs get, they'll never be as bad as the average continental ref.

  18. I'm not sure it's irrational, given that it probably triggers Ronnie Radford PTSD.
  19. I only had nine players out there this week, but don't particularly want to just drop anyone. Anybody wanna trade?
  20. Despite three players not even getting on the pitch, and not changing Salah back to ©, I think I've eked out at least 71pts.
  21. Transferred him in for Arnautovic when I woke up. Mint. And I made Aubameyang captain over Salah. Also mint.
  22. Transferred him in for Arnautovic when I woke up. Mint.
