Wew, poor result for all those superstars that Messi apparently gets to play with Well they're all out injured or not called up. Di Maria, Aguero, Dybala, Icardi, none played. That being said they should be doing far better. Looks like Lamela wasn't any part of that either, thankfully.

I do still feel like if I could make one rule change it would be that if you roll around after being fouled or "fouled", then the opponent gets to give you a free kick in the bollocks.
-
Quite. Like the commenter on BBC says, if you fall over in the box and there's any kind of contact, VAR will tell you it's a penalty.

Man City do not give any kind of a fuck how much they pay for someone. Also helps their "homegrown" out. How’s that bitter tasting? It's almost made me walk away from the sport I love more than anything I'm not related to. Extremely bitter .

Can't speak for how up-to-date this is, but here: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/championship/craven-cottage-fulham.html#aby-train-london-underground Putney Bridge tube is close - about a 15-minute walk. We used to go to Fulham Broadway and walk down, which is quite a bit further but there were a couple of really nice pubs on the way. The other side of the river is really nice too. One nice thing about most London grounds is you can have a pre-match pint/meal somewhere central and not be too far away from most grounds. Like, we'd always get a pint and food at somewhere like the Head of Steam near Euston in the morning and read the papers, then jump on the tube for Arsenal/Chelsea/Orient etc etc.

Fulham and QPR are a piece of piss. Wimbledon a bit tougher. If I were you I'd do Fulham, really nice area, some good pubs, and you can walk to the game along the river (or at least, you used to be able to).

International breaks. Not exactly a pet hate, I suppose, most people probably agree. I would have appreciated them as a break back when Spurs were mediocre, but now I'm just counting the hours until our next game. Plus, I'm bored of most narratives with England. If it's not idiots complaining about Southgate trying new things in friendlies - precisely when he should be doing that - it's the (not necessarily incorrect, but dull) clamour to switch one mediocre player for another, or complaints that our mediocre team are being mediocre and not playing exciting attacking football. Add in the utter cuntery that has returned to the fore in our support and, frankly, I'm getting too old for this shit. For years the problem was that we couldn't get our players playing as a team. Southgate has at least achieved that.

Story of his season. We're not sure if his injury has had a permanent effect, or if he's simply getting back to full fitness, or if he's just not playing enough.

Those are the ones when you just want to sit the ref down and have him talk it through. I mean, what are you fucking there for if you don't give that?
-
It seems like a million years ago when Costa Rica beating Scotland was a major shock.

I have a vague memory of going to see Spurs play a friendly in New York against Man City, and Kyle Walker did a great job at CB. I may have dreamed this. You know what, we're not particularly good, at least this will be interesting.

I would have absolutely no idea if I wasn't on here. I don't really care either way . I've been a fan for nearly 40 years, and the only reasons I ever really gave any thought to Sunderland were (1) I was born on FA Cup Final day 1973 (2) One old friend is a Sunderland fan from Washington. They're not local, and have never really been a rival, or a threat.

Interesting, though.

Oh absolutely . Not sure I could listen to YNWA every other week though. All i’m saying is that Liverpool are not better than us “by far”. I’m just being particularly belligerent because i’m surrounded by idiot faux-Irish people dressed ludicrously, watching Fox News, on which the biggest c***s in the world are applauding even bigger c***s for doing unbelievably cuntish things. I need more Guinness.

I think you’re wrong too . We drew at Anfield and beat them 4-1 at home. We have almost the same record. They are not by far the second best team in the league. And Liverpool beat Man City who beat you 4-1. It's not as simple as all that. I don't think you're as good as Liverpool overall now that they've improved a bit defensively, that was the only thing holding them back and their attack is only second to Man City. I agree they’ve been better. In the most direct comparison between the sides since week 9, we were better (the 2-2 draw). If they were better than us by far, then that would not have been the case. I’m bound by law to argue our side, but only if you’re wrong .
-
You mean since we beat them 4-1 in match week 9 ? Look, I get it, they’re really good. I think you could argue that us, Man U, and Liverpool have been well-matched this season, with Liverpool strong going forward and erratic defensively, Man U very defensive, and us a bit more balanced and consistent. Have Liverpool been better than us since week 10? Yeah, probably. Have they been better by far? No.

I think you’re wrong too . We drew at Anfield and beat them 4-1 at home. We have almost the same record. They are not by far the second best team in the league. They are the only team in the PL to beat city this season if your doing comparisons of results. The best comparisons are head-to-head and league performance. Our league performance is almost identical, and we stuff them on the head-to-head. We can have an argument about who’s better, but Liverpool are not better than us “by far”. They’re just not . You could argue Spurs are better than Man Utd, yet you are 4 points behind. You could. I wouldn’t argue that we’re better than them by far though.

Me vs Beren today, who annoyingly is one of the few who actually makes changes . We’re both over 20pts, while almost everyone else will be in single figures.

Anyone not captaining Salah is criminally insane . 72pts so far - probably worth the Free Hit.

The match stats for today's game are a bit silly.

Fuck VAR .
