It’s one of my perennial football pet hates. Changes to the Laws or their interpretation to address a specific issue (diving, time-wasting by keepers, etc) that are followed for a while, then gradually get softened, then ignored. Happens time and again.

And so it begins.

The refs in European football in general (based on UEFA competitions) are worse than English refs. Can’t comment on South American refs as I haven’t watched them consistently since I was in my 20s.
