That was more on the rest of the defense tbh. He’s got to worry about the guy out wide left too, whereas there are four or five other defenders in the box marking one guy. One of those in the middle should have stepped across to cover for the through ball.

Hang on, didn’t you Hoover up Ashworth?
-
Urgh. Was really hoping that would drag on and Tuchel would completely poison the place. I’m not so sure. Boehly hasn’t been there that long and it’s clear that Tuchel and he (and maybe humanity in general) are wildly incompatible. We have enough evidence to see that Boehly et al are happy to throw money at a problem, but I think there’s still a chance that they stick with a manager. Just not Tuchel. Because, you know, he’s a weirdo.

Will never get old. Ironically.

It’s a kind of incompetence that’s corrupted/biased in the same way generally though. Like, that West Ham decision is absolutely incompetent, but I’d be very surprised if the decision was given with the teams reversed. I don’t think brown envelopes change hands, but there’s something in the process/refereeing consciousness that favours certain teams. I think that’s a fair statement.

Speaking of Gazza nostalgia, did you guys know about the golden cockerel on the new Spurs stadium? https://www.sportbible.com/football/news-the-golden-cockerel-at-spurs-new-stadium-has-a-bullet-dent-20190325

Udogie looked class.

I love that we’ve been unconvincing, and Arsenal fans have been rampant, and they’ve had a relatively easier schedule etc etc…and they’re now one point ahead of us with the same goal difference.
-
I think it’s mainly that everyone around them has got much better and they’ve -at best - stood still.
-
Yeah I totally get it . That was my original point though - despite lumping us together for understandable reasons (like the other guys did that I was responding to). On the matter of VAR and reffing it seems clear that certain clubs do get favoured…and I don’t think Spurs is one of them, for the most part. That suggests that there are other financial historical biases at play.
-
Sounds good. Do you think Spurs systematically benefit from VAR and refs?
-
It’s my job to say this of course, but it’s a bit tiring hearing the “Big 6” being quoted here when it’s usually Chelsea, Man City, Man U or Liverpool. The one time Spurs have benefitted that I can actually remember was against one of the Big 6 (Cucurella). That Dier penalty isn’t all that long ago. It’s clear that there’s been a long-standing, conscious or unconscious refereeing bias towards Man U and Liverpool. I would suggest that Man City and Chelsea have started to benefit since winning the lottery becoming top sides. There’s clearly an argument to be had over why this appears to be so, but this is one issue where it’s genuinely annoying to be lumped in with those sides. I don’t think we’re getting many generous VAR decisions.
-
I mean, we did get two goals (rightly) chalked off by VAR today. If they wanted to help us out they could have. Chelsea is another kettle of very pungent fish entirely.
-
Don’t know why we bother scoring goals any more tbh, most of them don’t count.
-
Absolutely wonderful goal from Toney for his hat-trick.
-
It’s tempting, but part of me doesn’t want that because it would allow Liverpool fans to pretend that “what goes around comes around” etc.
-
Fined FFS. Doesn’t really matter at all unless they sanction clubs on the pitch (squad/transfer restrictions, points deductions, removal from competitions etc).
-
What’s to get? They’re cunts. It’s not particularly complex
-
Loads of people hate Liverpool.
-
Yeah, Lavia looks great.
-
He won’t? Genuine question, hadn’t seen anything new.
-
Yeah, but looking at the comments on here at the time people clearly thought Carragher was going over the top. Much like the Forest player. Like I said, I fully expected to see some serious shithousing - particularly given that that’s Richarlison’s speciality. It just…wasn’t that.
-
Apparently Carragher has a real hard-on for him for some reason. Sometimes I think Carragher is quite thoughtful, then I remember him spitting on that fan and realize that he’s a bit of a piece of work.

I had a great week 3, then 4 was an unmitigated disaster and this week is heading the same way.
