Swansea arent going to lose both their Cb's in one season
-
Was just looking at Ba & Cisse's previous start to seasons. 10/11 Ba scored 8 in first 12 starts 11/12 Ba scored 11 in first 12 starts 10/11 Cisse scored 10 in first 12 starts 11/12 Cisse scored 8 in first 12 starts So hopefully in for a class start, need it for opening fixtures.

Whats the basis that its unlikely theyd keep the earlier form up bar injuries/their position being changed as with those two?
-
He was on track for 20+ in his first season in the prem
-
Huge opportunity isnt it. Adding ability + morale to one of our best players & giving him more reason to see his future with us aswell. Hopefully Lille are willing to meet in the middle, he might need to go rogue HBA/Maiga style as theyve no reason to negotiate if they think he'll play next season regardless.

Beckham wouldve curled the freekick straight in tbh

I was up for us taking him before & still am, wouldnt pay more than 15m. I think his ability to improve is much higher than people realise & hes the potential to be huge in the prem. I just think he needs consistancy which im not sure hed get with Ba+Cisse about, but Pards obviously thinks he can manage it all so id be down. Though we'd not keep all 3 at the club for long if Andy did the business.
-
Exactly, why would he even choose to go to West Ham. Decent chance hed much prefer staying at Pool on silly wages playing here and there.

Japan win, the scorer for Japan bursts into tears

Just need to wait till wesu ups the bid for denucjy then
-
Surely the whole issue with Redknapp is he does it to unsettle players who clubs want to keep. If he did it over Alan smith, i doubt we'd all have been having a go. Pool have been acting like they dont want Carroll, theyve unsettled the situation in the first place.
-
Wham play with 3 upfront aswell atm anyway. Vaz te left, Cole central, Maynard right. Now they have Maiga to presumably switch with Cole or Maynard. Carroll goes where? Suppose they might just shove 3 big lads upfront, would suit Allardyce.
-
Can you imagine whats going through his head as he puts those gloves on. The beauty of that moment. "Theyll never challenge top 5". Ends up in goal 2-0 down in a game that puts us joint 5th. So coincidentally perfect.
-
Seems like somethings been lost in translation. All the french sites are basing it on the guardian article yesterday. Where they simply say hes valued at 15m, not that we'll offer it. They're saying we'd want to negotiate that down actually.
-
Cabaye may aswell be a clause in Debuchys contract tbh. Thats the vulnerability we are using to keep the cost down, which is just logical. Theres no reason to think we wont reach a compromise, but the closer it is to our initial offer the better ofcourse. The balance is how much value we place on him joining us for pre season, aslong as hes training with Lille & hes fit we may be willing to draw it out for longer.
-
Them getting a replacement is pretty much a sign to us that theyve accepted the concept of selling him, they know he wants to go. Ofcourse they have till the end of the transfer window to draw this out till, so it becomes a balance for us of saving money vs preparation for the season. We obviously try to sell ourselves as a club that will move on unless the deals right. We may even feign interest in players & then move on specifically to try to build a reputation of having done that in the past. So obviously the next step is to claim we'll only be interested for a limited amount more time, to weaken their stance as theyll be left with a player who may disrupt their preperation. Its all just pressure games, doubt itll take much longer.
-
What was our first offer on the previous signings & how long did those negotiations take? The only difference this season is we as fans are more aware of the negotiation period as the selling clubs have leaked our offers.
-
Lille just agreed a fee for a player in his exact position yesterday, its the following morning. I wonder how some of you cope with life in general if you cant wait this out

Guy who gets paid thousands of pounds for sitting down watching football, unhappy at principle of needlessly paying over the odds.

Stage one complete, next stage: Use him to lure across a previous teammate whos top class.
