  1. They werent going to agree to any fee till they had a replacement so we've likely been waiting on that. They may be more willing to negotiate now.

    Loïc Rémy

Willing to keep him if no one offers 18m They surely wont get much more than that if they make the champions league & they came 10th last season. Seems unlikely theyll pass up the best offer whatever it is.
  3. All he wants is goals, he'll likely play wherever if he feels hes doing himself justice. Cisse just took his limelight & his missed pen at Sunderland prob knocked his confidence. Fresh season again now, we've seen what the lad can do. He wont get his form back on the bench, we could have a ridiculous strikeforce with these two. Hopefully Pards sorts it out for the best.
  4. The posts about Ba Slap yourselves man. Your ability to lose faith in a player is appauling & you dont help our club.
  5. That number 9 for them was very good, made all their chances & got the assist. Anyway, we pressed them well off the all. Looks like a good understanding like last year, positive stuff. Nice for Abeid to.
  6. Id be more suprised at Spurs matching last season than us doing it currently.
  7. Simon Bird was the guy who made the 25% sell on fee claim, was in the mirror. Chances are hes made it up, but he said 25% of full sale price.
  8. Thats the discussion though. Whether you should be regarding it as a job where you want to make the most you can, when the alternative is still earning ridiculous amounts and actually getting to do the job you love. I imagine many would sacrifice money after a certain point if it meant doing something that made them happy but earning a little less.
  9. Not many were using a similar argument to back up smith when he was with us. Adebayor's ability isnt worth anywhere near 175 grand a week.
  10. You can imagine Rooney & RVP being quite the strikeforce. Who would City not play? Tevez/Aguero? Tevez coming back pretty much won them the title.
  11. Joined and that. TakingThePapiss. Squad sorted. As mentioned, Chelsea/Reading double first week so potential headstart by picking some of those lads.

He was never interested in coming, the bid was irrelevant. You knew from the moment he was claiming "a side bigger than Newcastle" were interested he wasnt viewing us well. Comes across as a tit.

Wham have to use money to match our standing atm, so at the least theyll drive our bid up perhaps more than we'd wanted if theyre really interested.
  14. Of which he started how many? You're ignoring the entire argument put towards you, pointless discussion anyway. Going over your head mostly. The entire argument WAS that Carroll hasn't proved he's as good as the nostalgia hunters think. Picking out the odd game he scored in changes nothing. 4 goals in 21 starts. Embarrassing record for a striker an an embarrassing stat to be basing your "argument" on too. Best got 4 in 16 starts You dont understand the context of the replies like i said. The idea wasnt to show you he was class last season, it was to show why he would have lost confidence at Pool. The discussion was about whether his time with us or at Pool was a closer indication of his general ability. Your argument was that he was only temporarily good with us because he had...confidence & that we're seeing the "true carroll" now. Bizarrely implying that he is a man forever set up to be unconfident. I was showing you why that looked temporary, due to his injuries, then expectation, then Dalglish not starting him consistantly & more recently his form being solid. You replied by pointing out that he was crap last season, in a pointless circular manner

  16. Plus an England goal, so 3 goals in his first 4 starts after an injury yeah. Last season is a write off. Looking now, he scored his first l season against Everton. So Dalglish drops him the next game against Man utd. Gets the last 10 mins in the game after that v Norwich. A start against Wbrom, Carroll scores again. Gets 1 more game v Swansea to score & is dropped for the next two. Ofcourse he lost confidence, awful management.
  17. That strikers need confidence? When he joined them he was injured, he didnt play till March & did well as soon as he started matches.
  18. More down to form? Form isnt a magical thing that suddenly improves a players ability tenfold, it happens when a player is reaching his capabilities consistantly. Makes no sense.
  19. Cant see many/any doing that tbh. During his time with us id say about 95% would have agreed he was worth 15m or more. The last two hes scored have been top class goals which hint strongly its purely a confidence issue, i see little reason to think he cant get back to where he was & surpass it at his age. Hes still developing, the 35m price tag & expectation from that hampered him if anything. Liverpool saw his potential & made a complete mess of it. The lad last season was not the same lad whos first two goals for them were a 30 yarder past Hart & a diving backwards header.
  20. Wonder why they didnt go for 35 million.
  21. Both Moses & Hoilett would be exciting additions to our side.
  22. Wild pov here. But i imagine for us to be willing to spend that amount, numerous conversations involving Carr, Pardew & Ashley etc will have taken place. And personally im willing to put trust into their pov in terms of his value & ability to fit into our side, seeing as they are the same people that got us the current side everyone loves so much.
  23. Those comments on Rawk. What a bunch of delusional morons, hope Ba scores a hattrick against them next season.
  24. None of our wingers/midfielders are seemingly the type to be putting crosses in for him. Ben Arfa cuts inside and prefers to shoot, take players out of the game, play a through ball, cut a ball across the box etc. By all accounts (I'm trusting madras on this) Marveaux is a similar player if he can keep fit. Cabaye loves to look for incisive passes. Jonas for me is far better at that side of the game than he is the traditional crossing. Even Santon if he's played at left back is liable to cut inside and run towards goal then look for a pass to a teammate (Cisse's first vs Chelsea). The only player in our potential set-up next season that may be in a prominent position to swing crosses over is Debuchy and he's not even an NUFC player as of right now. Thing is - Ben Arfa for eg can put a good cross in because he has the technique and skill to do so, like for Cisse's first against Liverpool. But it isn't any of those players strengths and we shouldn't be asking them to set up like that on a regular basis. Broken record but I see him adding to nothing to us but as maybe an effective plan B which is what he is right now at Liverpool anyway. This is doing my head in, you both implying he is completely dependent on crosses and only scores from headers. I urge you to have a look back at the goals he's scored for us and Liverpool. There's quite a few headers there, maybe even 50% of his goal tally, but there's also plenty of scorchers, tap ins and well worked goals. I could understand this argument coming from a supporter who only looks at a player's main attribute and goes from there, but you both have seen him with your own eyes playing for us for crying out loud. Just to back that up. Of Carrolls 11 goals for Liverpool, only 3 were headers. Of Carrolls last 37 goals overall, 20 were shots, 17 were headers. He isnt purely dependant on crosses atall.
