Carrolls rate of improvement from our late champ season to prem was ridiculous. From the 5-1 against Cardiff till he moved to pool, he'd scored 24 goals & 6 assists out of 33 games he played atleast one full half in. Thats why he went for 35 Million. If any side can get him back on that progression, he'll turn into a very big player.
-
He does say "we know he's good enough" & hes always been positive about Carroll. Doesnt suggest hes exactly against the move does it, but yeah bit odd at the same time.
-
He isn't. He's a horrific defender and shouldn't be playing for us. Worked out really badly for us last season with him in the side.

Demba Ba @dembabafoot Y a-t-il d'autre récompense pour le bien, que le bien? (Is there any reward for good, as well?) Cryptic stuff for half 4 in the morning.
-
Thing is if he came to us he'd be training with better players aswell, so he'd progress more as a striker
-
Will take a lot of convincing from Pards to get Carroll coming back to our fans & not feeling like hes admitting a huge failure still.
-
What? He would still be third choice, like Best was. It would be an upgrade to our third choice striker - a potentially expensive one at that. How hard is that to understand? Well, it's nonsense really. He would give us a completely different option either in a 442 partnering Ba or Cisse, or coming on if we need to play more direct in a match because things aren't going our way and we need to try something different. In terms of squad position you're probably right, in terms of ability and tactical options it's not even close FFS.. Why are people forgetting that he looked like a total f***ing carthorse for the majority of his time at Liverpool? I won't deny that he looked like a good player at the time he left us. Because it can be explained? Just as Ba's form can be for us, unless you're one of those who wouldnt mind him hopping it now purely due to some poor form.
-
Aye great summing up that. Same thoughts/conclusion for me. Gotta trust in Pards after last season & the potential is there.
-
Looks like just 3 games actually, forgot about that. Scored 2 goals & assist. Was Pool, Man City & Spurs.
-
Aye, everyone was devastated when he left due to us thinking he was just a handy upgrade on Best. The Carroll who played for us was immense, if he came back we'd probably have the best strikeforce in the league with those 3 on form.
-
Barton & Nolan had nowt to do with the long ball style? You play to your strengths, we have a lot more now (or atleast the potential for them). Very different situations. Carroll would just offer an alternative style of attack, we have several now.
-
If he regains the form that made us sell him for 35 million (Very possible) i doubt many would laugh at us agreeing a 13m fee.
-
He hasnt played here for a year yet.
-
Purely in terms of ability, probably couldnt get a better striker on loan could we? We know his potential, Pardew knows how to pull it out, back in form. Pardews dealt with Ben Arfa anyway its no wonder hes confident he could deal with Carroll. Bit risky still though.

About sums it up

Whos to blame for this shambles

White patch for sponsor makes it look enormous. Would look better as a kit over the stripes, but prob stand out less. So they got what they want.
-
Sounds great that like, similar amount to Santon. Hope we sort it.
-
Still kinda like the guy tbh. Partly because we'd not be where we are now without him going, greater good and all that. Plus i still think hes capable of being one of the best strikers in the league & Englands best in a long time.
-
We'll be going into next season with Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Santon, Jonas & hopefully Debuchy. We could have some of the best flanks in the league. Anyway, trust in Pards. From all his interviews & our general form etc, he seems very aware of our strengths and weaknesses last season. Hes not going to go with & stay at 4-4-2 if it doesnt work, theres no reason to worry about it.
-
Whats all this stuff with his character? I saw him dive against us which was pathetic, apart from that what else has he done to get this rep?
-
Had a nice assist in that Villa game aswell. Pards mustve seen him before we sent him off on loan last season though? Doubt much will have changed ability wise.
-
Wouldnt worry about it not ending here. People use the example of someone offside leading up to a goalline decision, but what likely % of goalline decisions would that make up? Not very many atall. Itll be to rare for people to care enough. You cant avoid sorting 90% of issues because 10% will still be wrong.
