  1. It's not that bizarre like, nor is it exclusive to just this country. I didn't say it was exclusive to this country, but I do think it is bizarre. If a player is good enough to play for the international team, then he is good enough - it doesn't matter which team, league or country they play their football in imo. Right but I suppose the issue is around the standard of football you are consistantly being challenged by & the jump to international standard again. You could adapt to certain things being less complicated at lower level, even if you're able to make the step up. Might be harder to do it quickly for one off games.
  2. Nah, they're both really good though. Get in Spurs. Personally I think Son is streets ahead of Kane as an all round player. Kane's a great finisher...but so is Son. Son can also create, beat people and his movement is absolutely class Bit much to be comparing him to one of the best strikers in the league over two seasons, Son's in great form but Kane's a pretty good all rounder also. They both look top strikers who seem to be getting the right training from Poch.
  3. Spurs look good here, impressive. Son is destroying it.
  4. we had other chances, like the diame shot that hit their player, but the easiest one of the whole game was the header clark put wide. Yeah i meant first half mainly, it was improved second half. Shelvey put no balls through in comparison to the previous games though, Gayle didnt get in behind at all. We were playing a lot of passes back to defence when some could have gone forwards. Great to have control but you do need to score, they were a post away from a draw & I dont feel we were trying that hard to beat them the first half. You can't assume it will come, they need the same drive to score.
  5. I think our mentality is a bigger issue than formation. Our first loss during our streak was after our best win, equally after creating endless chances against Villa & Norwich we created far less against the side who have shipped the most goals in the division? We had one Anita cross for Gouffran to volley & an Atsu solo goal that first half? I think the line between being "comfortable" against a supposed easier side and being lackadaisical on the ball was getting blurred a bit. Anita/Atsu were the main two creating and both came in to the side. You could see they'd been given a talking to at HT as they came out with a bit more urgency, they should know to treat every game the same really.
  6. Dummett was alright defensively today. I think he favours Hayden, not sure on the theory as to why he's been rotated out but he played a few in a row during our winning streak. I wouldn't be suprised if Diame was rotated again also.
  7. What's he done now? Absolutely nothing, he was very effective when he came on, should have started, him and Gayle up front and we would have won by a few. Effective, he did nothing of note and give it away a few times. I guess its just a case of whether the glass is half-full or half-empty. I saw him, as the lone outfield player, successfully maintain possession through clever use of the ball several times. I focused on that and you apparently focused on the times he couldn't do that through being surrounded or vastly outnumbered. But your attitude is so very different to what it was a year or two ago, I can't be the only one who sees that. You appear so cynical and negative in many of your posts and I don't know what has happened to you to change you so much. Having one of the biggest wum's on the board jump in agreeing with you doesn't actually enhance your case. (Well that's a f***ed up quote, sigh) Sorry but I'm sick of the hype mitro gets for the little output he delivers. Shola at the same age was a better player and prospect imo. I'm sick of the stick Mitro get for doing absolutly nothing wrong, in limited outings, because of people's pre-defined opinions. Nail on head there. I see it so much on here. It's like a cultural meme that develops within the limits of the board and many find it easier to adopt that than use their own powers of discernment and observation. From someone who's lived through a few decades now I can say I'm honestly quite scared about what is happening to modern culture. Sound-bytes and consensus rules the day. I don't think it's that. People just make their own judgement & go off that. Mitro's missed sitters previously so thats biasing some people against him in general, obviously objectively he's had very little time to do anything this season. He did miss a few chances before his goal though. Given time i'm sure he'll be alright, he's not getting it currently.
  8. Looked pretty assured yeah. That fingertip clearance from a corner during their pressure may have been important, Selz has been a bit dodgy on a few of those.
  9. He was better second half, you can tell they'd had a team talk telling them to up it. Still feel he can offer more, a few balls he gave up on when they were nearby him.
  10. Can't say I agree with that, his last ten minutes aside. I thought he was very assured and always in the right position today. As far as the Colback's scale goes, that was right up there. On the overall scale it was still low down there, we should be dominating the midfield so much more. Still don't agree. I hate him as much as the next guy but thought he had a good game in his role by anyone's standards. Good in what way?
  11. Think Mitro/Perez might've been the better choice today as a few expected. Gayle couldn't get into it due to the consistant long balls, it took Atsu doing it on his own. Only he & Anita really went for it in terms of attacking & made our best chances.
  12. Really? They did f*** all. Even the one that hit the post came off our player. Then we cleared one off the line? Darlow had to fingertip another away aswell on a dive across the area. It wasnt simple.
  13. They hit the bar and post to be fair. We looked comfortable in a very lethargic way yeah.
  14. Nah you can for that one. Can't say with our squad thats the best we could have done today, glad we won but made far too hard work of it. Nvm hopefully a one off in terms of performance.
