What level of reasoning does this take? Deary me. If you hear a breaking news story & see said players thread is high up. Maybe click the thread to see if people are discussing it? Mindblowing.

Aye lets compare Ferguson to Solano Raylor will keep his place obviously
-
Imagine Raylor will get another chance now over Fergie

Hes not going to be asking them to hoof it long is he, following all his quotes about us playing differently this season. It'll be momentary decisions from the players, which he'll have to work on. Hes given his reasoning for playing two big lads upfront, it didnt work out. Hopefully he'll learn from it & we'll see a different side next week.

He's been very average to rubbish. He haven't played good enough to keep the place. People are just blinded by two great goals. Two clean sheets & wasnt much at fault in the fulham game. Then scores two goals to help us win two games. Yeah drop him we have a new player whos had much less time to train with us, great for team morale. Its hindsight nonsense, the choice to pick him was fine. Potentially it should have been changed, thats about it. Its Pardews job to show more faith in players than the fans do tbh. Fans perception of ability goes all over the place very quickly, as shown on here constantly. Stop going on about the clean sheets. It's all down to Coloccini and Steven Taylor being outstanding. Yes, he scored two goals - that shouldn't make him our f***ing left back. Of course we should drop a shitty player who have been average/rubbish. It has nothing with team morale to do. It's about winning games, not appease certain players. We had a speedy, talented, fit and in-form natural left back on the bench. Should be chosen 1000 out of 1000 times. Your post is rubbish from start to end. Absolute bollocks. Stop going on about us not conceding with him as part of the defence? Aye thats not relevant atall. Dangerous on set pieces in a manner that can win a side games? Definately not a potential benefit to be considered when picking any player. You're full of logic & definately not biased in any manner following what turned out to be a poor performance. Carry on getting riled up For the most part it's all down to our central defence being oustanding. Every half-brain is aware of that. Again, he's been average to s***, and shouldn't be our left back just because of his free kicks. Once again, rubbish post. Yeah your personal opinion of things really proved the point there, welldone mate

I'm sure it was pretty common knowledge that Santon, for £5m, and a dedicated full back, was being bought as first choice for left back, over a below average right midfielder playing at left back. Don't think it would've hurt morale that much, tbh. Fans' perception of ability has never gone all over the place for Raylor, like. I didnt say he wasnt being brought in as first choice fullback. Its hardly ridiculous to continue playing a player who has been part of a relatively solid defense whilst Santon becomes involved in the team. My point about Pardew showing more faith in players than the fans need to, wasnt really specifically aimed at Raylor was it.

Sholas inclusion was the only suprise for me really. You'd expect him to have given Ba a start after the assist & with him apparently eating normally now.

The general idea of giving a chance to someone whos recently scored some important goals and looked fairly decent defensively is a pretty normal/solid thing to do. Making players believe they can keep their place if they keep up performances is only a good thing. Pardew could have made earlier changes, thats about it. Doubt Taylor will start the next following this performance.
-
good post, totally agree. Pardew showed that he can do ok when he took over from chris, the team played some decent stuff, only for us to realise it was more to do with the team he inherited rather his own input. I saw some harrowing comments on the southampton boards a while ago, with fans saying he was just a long ball merchant, I thought they were just bitter fans , but it really rings true now. Yes 4 games into the season with several new players linking up attack has proven this. Chill out man, nonsense posts.
-
Hope we win, be really good for our new players confidence to keep this momentum going. Its very possible to with these fixtures.
-
Can see Barton wanting to prove a point tbh. Its one of those dodgy games where we should win, but itll probably be quite difficult. The Fulham game gave me hope though, with Krul in goal in superstar form we might start winning the games we're supposed to.

You lot are useless man She just missunderstood Haris replying "Just joking man" thats all & then the pic. Language differences, no one even suggested she was male. Anyway im still unsure of Ben Arfa being up behind a single striker, sounds class on paper but not sure in reality whod be putting the ball in the net. I guess with just 1 infront of him, we'd be hoping quite often its largely him? Either that or we'd need Cabaye/Marv with their shooting boots on also. We'd need one of em to start matching their goalscoring seasons for this to work well.
-
He also completely opened up the attacking move for Ba's shot onto the bar against Fulham. He was the one that moved past 2/3 players to get it to Cabaye to set that up and make the break. He looks very promising to me, just needs consistency and confidence to keep rising.
-
I reckon we'll make top 10. No point being cynical now, we have what we have. Onwards and upwards, hopefully Best and Ba become a dreamduo.
-
Agree to a point. I do like the potential of our team & results so far have backed that up a bit. Ive seen people shove Ben Arfa off a front man for ages also, do either Best/Ba look like the kind of players he'd succeed with there though? He wont be able to just do it all by himself, he'll need a mobile front man to pick up on through balls, make intelligent runs, pull the defence away from him, someone with great awareness & who can pick out his runs with passes also. Im not sure any of our strikers match that really? Thats what i wanted in a new striker tbh. Maybe Ba will come closest.

How can you rate the transfer window a 6,5 when our squad is arguably weaker than it was a year ago and we have made a huge profit on transfers in that period? Because I think we've replaced Enrique with quality, replaced Nolan & Barton with quality, signed a striker but could have done with another, and signed people like Obertan to beafen up the numbers. Nowhere near the doom and gloom you'd think people would make out. Ah honestly f*** this s***. Don't enjoy this forum anymore. Bunch of depressing bastards. f*** off. I don't really understand why not? If you believe in what we are doing then you should have no problem explaining why. I never believed in signing Kevin Nolan even when he was a hero here but I believed in what I said and so had no problem with arguing my case. I believe we do some things right, and I try to argue my point as well as possible. But it does seem totally pointless sometimes, and I'm being made to feel like some sort of imbecile or not a proper fan for putting my point of view. I can understand what Nut is saying, I'm close to not bothering coming on here anymore. No offence to anyone personally, there's just enough reasonable chat to keep me going, but I know the feeling. Ian man, you get grief because you dont say reasons of annoyance without explaining why you potentially understand whats happened or listing off all the other positives of the situation. Most people react to the singular event, having accepted all the previous positives that have been before it. Its ok to just feel annoyed about something without balancing that out constantly, its only temporary & quite normal.
-
nobody is justifying anything, some are saying it isn't the disaster being painted by others. This basically. Not justifying it. We obviously should have got a top quality striker in, but it's not the end of the world, and contrary to popular belief, it doesn't make Pardew a "lying cockney b******". To be honest, I'm just glad the transfer window is closed now. I can stop checking my phone every half an hour for updates. Different people are saying different things. The windows not been a disaster or anything no. But its massively dissapointing to fail to find a better striker than Demba Ba to lead our team, especially given our scouting work in other areas. Feels like we really couldve stepped up a gear this season & we've not bothered due to poor preperation, seems like we never properly decided on a striker. Its also a gamble to rely on Best & Ba at this point, thats the reality. Hopefully they do well, having Ameobi as backup incase they dont isnt a wonderful situation is it really. I dont understand why some run around crying if everyones not full of optimism atm.
-
Some will accept any old bollocks, honestly. Theyll find a way to justify the situation based on pure hope that its for the best. Regardless of the fact that the man making the decisions has a pretty solid history of making errors of judgement. No point arguing.
-
David craig is so full of shit
-
Id say 6. Some nice signings like Cabaye. Otherwise lost Enrique/Barton etc Needed that striker.
-
Hey atleast we got Barton off the wagebill. So we could get..........half the transfers we were supposed to get before he left.
-
You have to laugh. It couldnt be done much worse could it really
