    We lack athletes!

Im hoping Hughton might secretly be quite capable & aware that Nolan/smith cant make the step up but are probably good enough at this level. We'll be able to replace them with better players in the summer than any we could get while still in the champ if we do go up. Im hoping.
  2. You just tend to go a little quiet when it doesnt go to well & make a lot of noise when it does
  3. Ronaldos been a bit quiet in this thread recently strange
  4. He's not a manager, we're run by a committee. Again tbf we looked worse when Carroll came on to me. Not down to carroll, more so the way we changed our style of play because of him. Long balls started a lot more, we look much better when its kept down.
  5. He did well on the ball. Most footballers get paid a lot at that level, many of them cant control that well atall. He got us the freekick, he did badly down the other end. Theres no use only seeing one side of it, he had good moments and a few more bad moments.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Ive mentioned it twice & it seems a pretty obvious point to make. You dont think he's used to playing at a higher standard than the championship then? Thats the only way it could mean FA. I dont think you have made your point very well, he has never been successful at a higher standard.. goalscorer?.. get a lot of assists?? A match winner? Not really. I think you're being slow essentially, thats why. Him not being successful at a higher standard is easily debatable but mainly irrelevant as i asked if you thought he was used to playing at a higher standard. He's played all his life at the top level in Argentina, Spain & did the same when he came to England. Along with getting into his national team (yes im making the point again ) My argument was that dropping down to the championship is an understandable reason why such a player may not be motivated to the extent he has been previously when playing against the likes of manchester United. What is it that you disagree with ? So far you've just pointlessly taken a dislike to me using him getting into Argetinas team as a solid reason to back this up.

    Danny Guthrie

He's looked quick footed when ive seen him in the middle this season. His goal v leicester he went past a player, did the same when he hit one off the post v Reading i think. Saw him make a couple of quick turns there today and keep the ball. I think he'd do much better when he can turn either way, on the wing you can only turn inside. If you want to go down the wing you need pace, its different to being a central midfielder.
  8. Tbf when he got the ball he did alright. He controlled well several times, got us the freekick we scored from & couldve turned in the pen area at one point. On the ball he's strong and moves well. When hes off the ball he is disasterous, doesnt get near it. We saw what happened with him trying one touch football aswell. Such opposites.

    Danny Guthrie

Guthrie is dangerous around the box, has a strong shot on him & can pick out a pass. We have the attacking central midfielder we need & he's not being used imo.

Is whatd id want to see more of. Even with his tecnhique on the ball not being the best, you cant underestimate how much a quick player making runs can do to drag defences about a little. He purely needs to be told to stop shooting & he'd be useful imo. Id use Nolan as sub & put Guthrie in the middle, obviously wont happen. But we can all see Nolan is a hinderance when hes not scoring, its not good enough.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Not ignoring it. I dont see the drop in quality of the opposition being motivational to a player who gets into Argentinas first team, itd be demotivating if anything. He's rubbish at shooting generally yes & should do better with his final ball as shown tonight when hes in full flight. Joint on assists with Guthrie at 8, R taylor has about 3/4.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Not when the opposition puts two defenders on him because of it
  14. Have to say Colo had the worst game in a long while. Doesnt bode well for him playing in the prem, was done with a bit of movement easily several times.
  15. We should take solace for the whole season then . We've scored goals all season in spite of having no attacking plan and little end product. yes, this game is nothing new. makes you wonder just what it is Hughton actually does, cos getting the team to gel as a coherent unit going forward isn't it. Think its very telling that the only time the central midfielders get the ball is when one of our long balls is headed back to them by the oppositions defence. Our entire attacking plan is knock it long and look for scraps or get it to the wing. As Jonas is the only real winger, that means it him 80% of the time when we play it along the floor.
  16. He wouldnt have made it past the half way line He's better in every department and earns 50k less. Strange how he didnt do that at any point in the game then, let alone the last minute of the match. You'd find something to moan about whoever it was
  17. Is cutting through a defence like that not creative then? Pretty sure you're having a go at him for wasting a chance which he created.
  18. Good game to watch, many dodgy decisions. Both teams had a chance to win. If we were going to draw the game, im glad we drew it like that.
  19. He's fuking s***. Cameron Jerome looks twice as dangerous as Jonas. What a load of absolute bollocks
  20. Carrolls to big to fall over as he does, refs will never believe it even when its real
