  1. Ht then, Ukraine look average at best. If we score i still think we'd be more likely to win than them.
  2. Missed
  3. Just seen the goals, nice 2nd from Carroll & great assist for the 6th. Can only be a good thing for us, he's been playing better since having the baby actually. Maybe its helped put things in perspective and take the pressure off a bit.
  4. Bringing him back a 2nd time wasnt thought to be realistic either

The fact theyd be playing far weaker opposition. Same reason its allowed all our other players to suddenly decide to perform I think when you see players coming out and going on with the "oh we're so much more together now, so much more determined..so much team spirit" etc its largely nonsense half the time. Reality is, theyre pissing on teams as theyre easier to beat so theyre staying confident and thats it. If they were continually going behind after a bumbling mistakes every single game like last year, you'd likely see that "togetherness & team spirit" dissapear quite quickly. Results have a far bigger effect on morale and self belief than anything the coaches/manager/whoever else can give them & theyre getting better results. Thats about it.
  6. If Krul just learns to stay on his line, he becomes the better keeper. Shouldnt be that hard to learn. He obv didnt trust the kids playing infront of him so he rushed out more & made mistakes.

The last game was the only game we havent scored in this season, i think we're better than you imagine. Our goals for are pretty much the same as theirs, bar one or two matches where west brom & cardiff have thrashed the opposition. Its not consistant atall though. I think people are overeacting to our last couple games. We're still the best side in this division, we'll underperform every now and again sure. But the likes of Guthrie/Jonas arent going to spend the entire season in bad form, if those two pick up alone...with Harewood upfront & our other attacking options upfront we'll score goals as easily as anyone else.

    Keegan or Shearer?

Keegan all day long. Best manager we could get any time soon.

Whether hes value for money is a diff argument though, i dont disagree that he hasnt lived up to what was expected of him. But no point going pointlessly over the top about how woeful he is, hes been one of our better players.

Not the best reply, i didnt count the pen & i didnt call him getting a freekick an assist. Him not scoring is evidence enough that hes not a goalscorer and thats about it.

He got two assists against Palace the game before he went out injured. Against Reading remember him destroying their right back...helped set up the first with Enrique. Nearly scored for us & set up loads of corners we got chances from. Corner for the pen might have been down to him, cant remember. Did well when he came on against Huddersfield, got the freekick we got the winner from in that game. So theres 4 goals going through him in 3 games for you. Doesnt really match up to your argument to well does it.

Do what? Were you expecting his shooting/crossing to miraculously improve for no reason? Hes not the player many expected, but hes not as bad as most of these comments basically. In the context of this league & in the context of our squad, he's a good player. His plus points are still his plus points & they provide a good amount to our side. He'll have bad games, they'll all have bad games. Barton, Guthrie, Jonas etc are still very good players. People lose faith far to easily, when the majority of evidence points to these players not being the utter garbage people end up calling them when they dont do brilliantly constantly.

Except that before he was injured nearly all our play was going through him, to the point that he was being marked by two players. He cant smash a ball or curl a cross in, massive suprise - because we havent known that for over a season or so. So hey, lets all get wound up about it now as if its some newmindblowing discovery & go completely over the top by claiming that hes now completely useless because of it. Even though a few weeks ago the commonly accepted opinion was that he was one of our best players. Gutierrez has had crap games before where he falls over all over the place, hes then gone on to give performances wheres hes great on the ball. Because guess what, players dont always play at their full ability. Sometimes, especially when coming back from an injury, they tend to underperform. Why is this something, some people cannot comprehend atall?

Except that thats nonsense isnt it.
  15. Who cares about records, from their results theyre an average side at best. Theyre barely at 10th due to 3 wins in a row against sides in the bottom 6, nothing special.
  16. He'd clearly do it again from those comments. Obviously under this lot he couldnt come in, under a new owner though id have him back still.
  17. Guthries volley was an easier chance than Harewoods, harewoods had to take it midair coming across his body. Guthries landed on his boot from 5 yards out.
  18. Glad i missed it if that was the save of the match. Clearly a pen & guthrie should have done far better with his volley.

So we shouldn't have strong opinions about a bad game? You can do sure. I expect games to affect peoples opinions ofcourse. But what i tend to see is X has 10 good games & then people love him followed by 2/3 bad games - after which suddenly the player goes back to being useless. I dont often see "well yeah he had a shocker today & the last couple games....but we know hes more capable than that so looks like hes just off form". Its always HES AMAZING or HES DISASTEROUS AWFUL. Doesnt seem to balanced.

Cant fault him on selection today but you can still criticize the style of football as many have said. We should be able to pass these sides off the park, not long ball it constantly and hope for knock downs.
  21. Quite easy to blame him really, we were relegated by 1 point. If he stays he likely would have gotten us that 1 point on his own somewhere along the line. They would still have been interested at the end of the season.

Its not like people on this board to form such strong opinions after one bad game
