  1. Or that might just be his opinion.

    RIP sale thread.

You're coming out with a made up conclusion though that no one is actually stating atall
  3. Not as strange as your interpretation of it. Most people expected him to be the best midfielder in this league (mainly based on his Man City form and a few games under KK), but he's been very poor so far this season and our worst midfielder bar Butt. He's not been justifying his inclusion ahead of Guthrie this season. That would be a nice argument if i was stating that hes currently our best midfielder and in prolific form, but im not really am i. I am stating that hes not useless. All this "barely better than butt, never played well for us" crap thats going around is completely laughable. Over the last two seasons when he wasnt setting out to cripple the oppositions players he consistantly put in better performances than our other midfielders, that is how he became considered to be our best midfielder at the time. It wasnt magic. Now on the back of three dodgy performances where he loses the ball by trying to play through balls to 1 man upfront against 2/3 defenders suddenly he's a complete waste of space. Ignoring the fact that bar Ameobi he was probably our motm against Reading, the only game where he's played with two lads infront of him IIRC. Thats also ignoring the fact he had just come off an injury. Not an in form midfielder for us no. But anyone who could care less whether we have him for cover or not is completely clueless. Theres no where near enough of a solid basis to be writing him off as atall useful anytime soon.
  4. Short memories as i say. The going opinion round here now is suddenly that Bartons completely useless based on 3 games or so, when before it miraculously managed to be that he was the best midfielder we have. Strange that.
  5. The fact the opposition are a lot more s***, and therefore easier to tackle and less likely to be fouled, has played a major factor mind. Still don't think Smith is the answer when we go back up. For this season though, ideal. Smith has been very good this season. So much so that it's easy to forget how woefully inadequate he was as a midfielder for us in the prem. My point exactly. Put him up against Lampard, Gerrard, etc. again, and he'll be back to his frustrating worst I reckon, picking up daft yellow cards, giving away silly free-kicks on the edge of the area, etc. At the very least I reckon this season will boost his transfer value in the summer. It is ofcourse possible that some of our players were simply lacking confidence rather than ability. This season may help rebuild that up & they may do decently in the prem. Rtaylors delivery this season alone is a big example of a player massively underperforming. We were lucky if he kept a set piece in play last season & playing in the championship doesnt make freekicks easier to deliver.
  6. I predit that he'll put in some class performances some point soon, everyone will start kissing his ass again & ill quote this to show im mystic meg. People have very short memories.

    RIP sale thread.

No ones saying they want to be in the championship are they, theyre saying they're enjoying winning games for a change. Its nice to get the highs of a win, regardless of where that takes place. People dont have to be at the very top level of a sport to get any enjoyment from it, that doesnt mean that isnt where they aspire to be does it
  8. Because the quality of the players left turned out to still be better quality than most Championship sides? They then win games, they then get more confident so they work harder to get on the ball. You can put it down to weaker opposition easily. Im sure Hughton has helped the situation, just as Shearer may have been able to. Its not something you can state at this point.
  9. Which is what? That we're getting better results against weaker sides? Yeah what a miraculous turn around. Just because its the managers job doesnt mean you ignore the situation and write them off if its not instantly achieved.
  10. Didnt say it did. Moronic to say either at this point, no one has a clue.
  11. And it's not idiotic to say a manager is ***** after 8 games? You're the kind of idiot who gives Newcastle fans a bad name. No clue about football. Sometimes it's obvious that some people will never be an effective manager as long as they have a hole in their arse and it points downwards. The list of ex-players who thought they'd make brilliant managers but were spectacular flops is as long as your arm. Some of them didn't even last 8 games............................................. 8 games with that side & following that season is no basis to be making predictions about how good a managers going to be. A tough start to a managerial career is an understatement, he inherited a pile of crap low on confidence and probably wasnt experienced enough to be able to turn it around as quickly as needed. That in no way determines that he'd be a crap manager in the long run. Even then it took a piece of bad luck for us to get relegated.
  12. This'll be a tougher match. Id still stick with same formation as Ipswich & bring Guthrie in...maybe Harewood. That Jay Simpsons a good player, so we'll do well to mark him out of it.
  13. We just went in with the right mentality. Hughtons line up wasnt perfection, but it was positive and thats why it worked. We have the ability to piss on all of these sides at ease & dominate games, we have to go into games thinking like that.

    Nile Ranger

Just needs the confidence of getting that first goal, he'll light up

    Chris Hughton

Redeemed himself today, good decisions on the whole. Good win.
  16. Class result, back to an attacking formation. Happy days, welldone Hughton.
