I used to think Manquillo was awful but I don't think he was helped by being played at left back a lot. He does look more competent at right back these days.

It feels like a signing that should have happened years ago for a much smaller fee. We were looking at him when he was at Cov and around the time we signed Bigirimana. Clearly we had a positive relationship with Cov considered the Armstrong and Sterry loans. That being said if we'd signed him he'd probably gone the way of Ivan Toney while here.
