  1. Other than Spain/Portugal and Mexico/Germany that was my favourite game of the tournament tbh.
  2. Miranda was a total soft cunt. Zuber bossed his candy ass.
  3. Group Stages are always my favourite bit of the tournament. Particularly getting to see everybody play for the first time. By the time the knockout starts I get sad that things are beginning to wind down.
  4. Kenedy isn't even that one footed. He definitely hit passes and shots with his right last season. Obviously his left is by far his strongest suit.
  5. Him along half the France squad at the World Cup are from the banlieue of Paris. Could save them a lot of money if they looked for players right under their noses. Guess they don't need to bother or care anymore.
  6. If those two 17 year olds Real Madrid have spent 100 million come anywhere close to justifying the price tags then they're pretty well set for the next decade.
  7. Brazil's attacking options are so much better than 4 years ago. Neymar/Fred/Hulk/Oscar/Bernard vs Neymar/Jesus/Firmino/Coutinho/Douglas Costa Plus the midfield is stronger and two top quality keepers. Only Dani Alves being injured weakens a position from last time.

    England

I've got it down as a draw. We'll sneak through the group by beating Panama.
  9. 2030 will be in Europe for sure, FIFA won't go 12 years without it returning. Really it should be England or Britain, if not I don't see anyone else who is due, except maybe Spain but Spain had it 20 years more recently than the home of football of course. 2034 may be a good call for China but Morocco or another African nation maybe in the mix too. 2030 is pretty likely to be Argentina/Uruguay so long as they can prove they have the capability. 100 years centenary with the final back in Montevideo.
  10. Uruguay's midfield is actually far stronger and more gifted on the ball than in previous years, but they don't seem to be able to get out from their traditional way of playing. Having to play a 4-4-2 and needing to fit in both Suarez and Cavani doesn't help that area.
  11. Unsurprising really. They've been propped up for years.
  12. Hardly. He'd had great success managing U19, U20 and U21. It's more logical in the international game to employ managers of that kind of background than it is to appoint high profile club coaches.
  13. They made it so the holders had to qualify after 2002, so a spot in Group A wasn't reserved for them. Why they did that exactly, is not really clear. IIRC Blatter pretty much just decided it on a whim before Korea/Japan.
  14. It'll hardly be free tbf, if it does happen. The transfer fee will just turn into signing on fees and agent fees. Legally I think this Sporting situation is likely to run for a bit longer anyway.
  15. Decent player. Would have been a good option as more attacking left back competition.
  16. I think my man Guerrero is unfairly valued at 150/1. He was top scorer at both of the last two Copa Americas, and is gonna be powered by south america's finest marching powder.
  17. Ziyech is quality, mind. But he's a creative midfielder As somebody who has had the misfortune to watch a fair amount of both Switzerland and Korea in qualifying I still think FM has pulled the shortest of straws.
