Ten defenders and four midfielders. And 1 proper winger in Sterling. I guess he's playing 3-5-2/3-4-3 or whatever shit, but you're setting yourself up for a fall if it doesn't work. Surely considering the very different sides we're going to be playing then some variety would have been useful.

Taking what is essentially 6 full-backs is absolutely ludicrous. Delph and Young playing elsewhere makes no sense since they're in the squad based on their form as left backs, and neither were anywhere near the last two tournaments for their play in other positions.
-
Aye, going to be this Well that's simply not possible since there's no draw in a World Cup and never has been. We already know who our possible last 16 opponents are (Poland, Colombia, Japan or Senegal).
-
Could have tried to persuade Leon Bailey I guess Sessegnon and Jadon Sancho. A bit young but they both played plenty of games last season.

I don't think there's a lot of difference between us celebrating the title at Plymouth on the pitch and them celebrating reaching the play-off final. While we'd won something, there was actually less on the line considering the real target of promotion had already long been sealed. The play-offs are intense, and getting through a tight game in them to reach Wembley is a big release of emotion.

Apparently there is an exactly appropriate level of reaction to each type of victory, the context of it and the size of the club. Nothing can just be a case of getting carried away in the moment, it has to be 'embarrassing' or 'small-time'. It's nonsense. We invaded the pitch after Sammy Ameobi scored in a pre-season friendly
-
Celebration police out in force every time fans enjoy themselves is beyond tedious. More pitch invasions needed.

I mean even if it doesn't kill him to waste another year not playing, it certainly isn't good for us to be relying on him as first back up. It wouldn't be an Alnwick situation but he certainly isn't ready from the games I've seen him in.
-
That would kill Woodman (and potentially us if Dubravka got injured). He needs a full (probably two) seasons out on loan playing week in week out before he'll be anywhere near PL level. He's made 35 senior starts and he's just turned 21. I don't see much problem with him having half a season at the club and half a season out on loan for instance for a couple of more years. Pickford had made 130 by the same age. We're wasting the lads' key development years with shoddy loans. He's not PL standard yet. Miles off physically and technically, and he's not gonna improve unless he starts playing regularly. Another year like the one he's just had needs to be avoided at all costs. His Wiki says it was 93, 29 of those in non-league. Even so, I doubt he was in the first-team squad during a lot of that time either. Woodman would likely be training with the first-team everyday, learning from Rafa, Dubravka, the staff, in a Premier League environment. There's also no reason why he couldn't push Dubravka within a year or two. Dubravka's good but he's not exactly elite. At the same stage, Shay Given had played 24 times by the way. His next season was as first choice Newcastle keeper. Pickford had played 120ish by age 22 then, so the point is still the same. If Woodman doesn't go out next season that's him at 22 with no proper run of games at pro level. Goalkeepers aren't like other positions where they'll pick up what they need from training around other players, or can be dropped in for the odd game here or there. The lad has fundamental weaknesses that simply aren't going to go away until he's playing games regularly in pro football and making a load of mistakes. The Given point isn't really relevant because he got a Championship loan at 20. Last summer it was only League One and League Two sides that were in for Woodman. That shows the level he is at, he still looks and plays like a kid despite whatever talent he has. Which is no issue at his age, but he needs to be playing. He's not going to suddenly be getting Championship interest this summer nor is he ready to deputise for a PL side.

Welbeck is a hardworking wide player for me. The lad is never prolific enough as a main striker.

They've all been absolutely terrible as well.

I can't decide on him. Sometimes I think he looks great, other times he looks far too Championship. Would probably put him on about Yedlin's level really.

France have got a very good pool of CBs atm.

Yup. It's even more annoying when you consider that 10-15 years ago, Anfield was actually in a bit of a state. It was the same going to City in January and seeing how much their ground has improved since 2010 (last time I was there). We must be the only club in English football that is allowing its facilities to deteriorate rather than spending to improve them.

Fucking hell this is mad!
-
Yeah I changed it because it's OTT, but relative to their recent seasons they're so much weaker.
-
Look at all those Barca fans in the home end. Cretinous.
-
This Barca side really are poor (by their standards). Messi deserves every award under the sun for the way he's carried them to such success this season.

If we were to raid Norwich again Maddison is the player to sign. Unfortunately he will probably end up elsewhere.

I don't know how can you go to the match and record yourself on a selfie stick for 90 minutes and not feel like a massive bellend, like. It's incredible. I don't know how anybody over the age of 12 has the brass balls. -
Actually you wouldn't really be surprised if it wasn't even him who's posted that

I'd honestly be wary to give it to Diame until he's been thoroughly drug tested.
