  1. The opposite, I'm thinking about the immediate short term, and winning games to get us into the PL. It's a long season but him missing 15-20 games is really not ideal at all.
  2. I'm extremely apprehensive for players that have been in and around the Championship scoring lots of goals for sides that have invariably struggled with them in. I'm much more impressed by players that score a shitload to fire teams to promotion in one season (Callum Wilson, Andre Gray, Hernandez). The big difference, and its a generalization admittedly, is that those players are pacy, more flexible and more dynamic. The other thing with pace is its an attribute that's likely going to make you at least somewhat effective at the top level too, which could save us quite such an extensive rebuild upon potential promotion.
  3. Somebody who will be available for the next 15-20 games?
  4. Or he's being hamstrung by the board and having his options narrowed? What evidence do you have to suggest that? If Rafa started to get fucked about, he'd leave. He's still here, so we can only presume all is okay. Personally, I'd be quite surprised if Rafa is completely happy to be 4 games into the season having to jumble around our side, making do with playing Gouffran and Anita on the wing. We clearly wanted quality when we went after Knockaert earlier in the window. Not so say he's going to walk or anything, but we're nowhere near as prepared and stocked to match our position as runaway favourites at this point.

  6. Hernandez is somebody we should be looking at. I'm not convinced by him at a PL level but he's a proven goalscorer in the second tier (of two countries), and plays in a manner that is a lot more flexible than somebody like Rhodes or McCormack.
  7. Yup, feel exactly the same.....I mean, Coldplay FFS. Heartbreaking. Exactly. The entire thing reeks of soccer am.
  8. Everybody is trying to put a positive spin on every signing we've made just because Rafa is manager, even if they're shite (Clark) or snapped in half (Judge). Sorry for not being too enamored by our glorious transfer revolution of Championship squad players. We're absolutely desperate for some serious quality ready to play immediately. Players at the top end of the pitch at least as good as Gayle and Ritchie. This signing is only really excusable if Sissoko is staying and is ready to actually play football matches.
  9. Being rapid as fuck does not make a good player. From what I've seen that's literally about all he's got in his favour.
  10. Genuinely, what's your issue? It's this sort of rubbish gives NUFC fans a bad rep. It is possible for an Irish or Scottish player to be good. If we were signing George Best in his prime you'd probably start grumbling about it. Also, wake up call. We are lower league. Alreet Tatty McJock, calm doon.
  11. There's a video of him on youtube called "the Irish Messi" set to a coldplay song. Never felt more lower league in my life watching this. Hitting me right in the gut.
  12. This is really the best we can do? All of Europe to sign players from and we're signing some cunt who can't even play for months. We'll be 20 games in by the time he gets on the pitch.
  13. Grim? Our highly paid band of European mercenaries didn't exactly fill the heart with pride. No you're right, I'm looking forward to us becoming Norwich City.
  14. Absolutely grim the amount of Scotland and Eire players we're going for these days. Championship reality hitting me right in the gut.
  15. Funnily I was in Daegu's stadium on Sunday. 500 people watching Daegu FC in a 66k seater. Now that's a white elephant. It's the same with all of the 2002 World Cup stadiums here. Korean football is a joke.
  16. Beijing 2015 - 80,000 Moscow 2013 - 78,000 Daegu 2011 - 66,000 Berlin 2009 - 75,000 Osaka 2007 - 50,000 Helsinki 2005 - 45,000 Paris 2003 - 75,000 And so on. If you want to host the worlds in athletics you need a proper stadium. London is world metropolis, it can afford a white elephant that can host big events. There's still Palace for smaller athletics events.
  17. I don't like, was pure sweet fucking relief.

I'm not meaning to tempt fate, but I'd like to think whoever plays against Cheltenham Town will not have a chance to give a 'performance'.
  19. This is it like. Even under Rafa this has never changed. We never play fucking football, just ponderous crap followed by crosses into the box. Only times we ever look decent is now and again when a game is open and stretched and we do some shit on the break.
  20. There's not two defensive midfielders though 3 last week, 2 this week. Count. Who are the two defensive midfielders? Unless Anita isn't playing on the wing as per the team sheet then there's only Hayden. Just because the cunt is on the wing doesn't magically make him a winger man There's still two holding midfielders out there.
