To be fair though, i've never heard of Loic Remy and don't know where he plays or anything. Downing has a premier league track record, wouldn't need time to settle in the country/area or league etc unlike someone from abroad. He's hindered by the fact he's absolute pony, like. Can someone tell me why the hell we haven't offered him this new contract to remove the clause yet? It's one year since this story came out, we apparently risked to lose him (for a ridiculous amount of money) in the last January window as well as in the last summer window...and we're still trying to remove the bloody clause? Bollocks. Someone is not telling the truth, if this clause exists I can't believe that the issue hasn't been sorted out after one year, nor that nobody seriously came in for him knowing about this. His health is not good enough? Bah, football clubs use to risk much more than this, Abramovich splashed 50 millions on a player who had been consistently shit for 2 years, I guess it wouldn't be too daring to spend 7 millions on a more than decent striker like Ba (especially if you're desperate, like Liverpool), even if his health is not guaranteed He's been offered a contract. Horrendous set of televised fixtures today. Hoping either La Liga or PSG/Lyon can offer some entertainment.

He just had a random burst of form, he's always been fairly terrible.

Rafa lost the plot at Liverpool and was a complete disaster at Inter though.

Chelsea are without doubt the worst side ever to win the Champions League, even worse than Liverpool's flukey run in 05. 6th placed finish, lost both the spin-off games from the win, out before the last 16 this year. It's an ugly blemish on the history of the competition that they garbaged their way to the trophy.
